APRIL FOOLS-NOT!!!

I had a miscarriage on April 1st,09. Happy April Fools Day right?! I had went in for my check-up at 11weeks and the doc  could not find a heartbeat.I had some dark brown bleeding for about two weeks later, but had sex with my husband as soon as I could. We were trying to get pregnant so the miscarriage was devastating. I would say I stopped feeling pregnant about 2 weeks before the doc found out why. My husband and I went out a couple of times about two weeks after this happened, and I had a drink with dinner and started to feel queezy, also certain smells are still bothering me(i.e. cig. smoke, and certain perfumes-also exhaust from cars). I havent had a "normal" cycle yet.
I was wondering how soon anyone else has gotten prego after a miscarriage. I have been having a lot of dreams about the miscarriage, and getting pregnant is consuming our sex life. Any advice would help-no one ever replies to me on here: ) (except the two wonderful women who replied on my first posting). Thnx.

my ob told me after i miscarried in Dec 08 that basically about a couple weeks after the bleeding stops you could be very fertile again.. cuz basically that was your period.. as much as it doesn't really feel like it.. it is very possible to get pregnant right away..  not recommended but still very possible.  if its been a couple months sense you've had a period again i would call the doctors see what they want to do.

Good luck to you, and i'm sorry for your lose.. it can take time to heal thats for sure my husband and i had been trying to get pregnant sense march of 08 when we found out we were pregnant in December it was amazing.. but then we lost it so i understand how it can feel.. if you ever just wanta talk just send me a message i try to get on periodically throughout the week.

While I think it is possible, my doctor told me to wait 1-2 cycles after the m/c.  There are a couple of reasons for this, not only to have some emotional healing, you want to have physical healing too.  Also, your body can take some time to get the hormones back to normal and your hcg levels back to zero...that may also be some reasons for the symptoms you were having.  If you test for pg. soon after the m/c it can be positive but sometimes that is still showing levels from the original pregnancy.  
Did you m/c naturally or have a d&c?  Sometimes also if there is tissue left from the m/c it will show up as a positive result or a reason that your hcg levels are not back down to zero.  
Or....maybe you could be pg....I would test as soon as you think you would miss your period...I would take the first day of the bleeding you had as the "first" day of your cycle...to try to figure it out.  But that's also why they say to try to wait because it makes figuring out your LMP and if you are pg, it is harder to calculate due date, etc...
I'm sorry for your loss and feel free to ask questions anytime.  I lost my baby in February and it's been a very devestating time.  I think about it every day.  We did wait one cycle and are trying again...it's nerve wracking and is straining on a relationship...so try to relax a little and take it one day at a time (If only I would take the advice I give!) :)  Take care. :)

hi ericannie, this is a good question  i tooo had a mmc on april fools day  not funny huh more devestating was mean't to be 11 weeks was only 9  saw hb at 8w4d  had d and c on 3rd april  did the deed 13 days later not sure if i am pregnant again only did it once  can you ovulate after that?!!! very interested to hear where your at  gonna do a preg test tomorrow  i find tea doesn't tastse the same and my sense of smell is higher and a bit sick last night and totally knackered but it all started yesturday  weird keep in contact hun and good luck

ericaannie, I'm sorry for your loss. I know that having a m/c can mess up your cycle, some people get right on track and others it can take several months. It is possible to get pg following a m/c, most dr.'s like you to wait a cycle or 2(not always possible), if your concerned, I would call him/her and ask to have b/w so you know for sure. I know what it can do to your sex life when you want another baby so bad, but try not to turn it in to a chore. I wish you the best.
