After A Miscacrriage

by Jenn101604, May 15, 2009 01:19AM
I am 8 weeks past my miscarriage and I have not start my mentrual cycle yet. Even with the miscarriage, I only bled for like 4 days and not spoting afterward. I took a pregnancy test a week ago and it was negative. Yet, by belly is so bloated I look like I'm five months pregnant almost. I haven't gained weight anywhere else in my body...just the belly. My breast are tender and have been for about a week and I'm tired all the time. I also, from time to time, have twinges in my lower abdoman area and mostly there is a dull ache (not cramping). I have one child now in which I had a c-section. This was my first miscarriage. I was only a couple of weeks along. Sometimes I feel like I'm pregnant again and other times I don't. I just hate buying home pregnancy tests all the time. I feel like I'm wasting money. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible of another pregnancy and it was too soon when I tested last? Could there be something else major that could be wrong?

I'm sorry for your loss. I had the opposite with one of my losses I had bleeding for 10 wks after my d and e. It's possible you could be pg and the most accurate way would be to have your blood drawn since there is really no way of telling when you ovulated. On the other hand it could be that your cycle was affected by the m/c and can take a few cycles or more to regulate (get back to normal). I would def give your dr a call and let them know what is going on. You want to rule out any type of infection etc. Sometimes it takes your body a while to not act pg it's quite common after a m/c. I hope you get some answers and you feel better soon. Keep me posted and let me know what happens......

Thank you for your reply. I do have a doctor's appointment but it is like 3 weeks away. It seems like a lomg time to wait especially feeling the way I do. Things I read that talk about your cycle after a miscarriage said that it usually takes a while to get your cycle back on track. Nothing I read, did it say it took as long as it has been for me. But, everyone is different I guess. I will have to wait and see. Thank you again for writing back to me. I'll keep you in touch.

Sorry for your loss. I'm glaf to hear you were able to get pregnant again and I hope that everything goes well this time around. I really and wondering if I'm pregnant again. I'm having alot of the same symptoms as before, minus a couple. I think I'll try to get in touch with my doctor to at least get blood drawn. Thank you for your response.
