Am I miscarrying?

I've been on Loestrin for about a year and a half now and I haven't had any problems. About six months ago I started skipping the placebos and starting a new pack, which prevents my period.
About one and a half to two months ago, I was off the pill for two weeks until I could refill my prescription, and my boyfriend and I didn't use protection during that two weeks. Well it's been about a month and a half since then and I never took a pregnancy test or really had any signs of pregnancy except being a bit tired.
A few days ago, I started spotting, light to moderate of the brownish stuff, with a bit of back pain and cramping, and then yesterday I started bleeding really heavily (went through a tampon in an hour, hour and a half) and cramping/back pain got HORRIBLE. Also, I don't know if it would be my ovaries or something else, but right about my pelvis and between my hips is killing me as well.
I don't know if I'm just getting the period from hell (even though this is worse, by far, than any period I've had in my life) or what's going on. Help?

I can't really tell you if I think you  are m/c becasue you never took a hpt to confirm a pregnancy.  This could be related to your periods being out of whack.    Like Christine said, you could do a hpt and see what it says.  The times I've m/c I still got postive hpt for about 2 or so weeks after bc of the left over hCG in my system.  I'd suggest that if you are bleeding that heavily and in that much pain, you may want to give your doctor a call and let them know and see what they say since they know your history.

Have you taken a home pregnancy test? If you are miscarrying, your body would likely still have enough hCG to show as positive. I would start there.
