Am I still going to miscarry?

I am pregnant (5wks and 5dys)I had an ultra sound yesterday due to the fact I was spotting. My ultra sound images was blank. I am pregnant but there is no baby in my sac. I'm still puzzled and confused about this. How is this so? My doctor say I'm in "threatening miscarriage" its a 50/50 chance that I may miscarry or have a normal pregnancy. They say it may just be too early to tell, but at almost 6 weeks there should be something there you think? I need help what's wrong? Where is my baby? I need straight forward answers. I have stopped spotting so am I still going to miscarry? If  my baby is seen on my next ultra sound will be healthy or have down syndrome or something like that?PLEASE HELP!

it can be an empty sac until nearly 8 weeks so dont panic just yet!!xo
