Bleeding/clots (semi-miscarriage?)

Hello!

I think I had a miscarriage about 1 week before I went on a trip, around March 23 but there wasn't a lot of blood but high fever and excruciating cramps - it was not completely confirmed because it was very last minute. They were not able to "clean it out" or nor did they do an internal exam. I had an ultrasound and was told it was unclear. They tested my HCG levels and at the time they are about 400-500 and did not see any huge decrease or increase when tested again 3 days later. Then I had my flight to another country where I am for the next two months.

I had what I thought was a period (heavy bleeding) for about 3 days (usually my periods are medium and last 5-6 days) around the 1st of April. After this, I began taking birth control. Now, I have been slightly bleeding for the last week. It is not really blood, but more dark. There seems to also either be tissue or blood clots or something. I tried to do some research but nothing looked exactly like what I was experiencing. This dark, sometimes thick or with tissue has been discharging since April 20, the bigger "pieces" are thick and in a string shape, up to an inch or two long. Is all this the remnants of the pregnancy? I also have a photo of the most recent one... Not too sure what to think of this, though I am assuming it is the tissues of the miscarriage finally leaving. I have no pain or itchiness associated with this other than a potential UTI - but I assume that is unrelated.

The most recent specimen seems to stay in tact even if i pull it, like it has a membrane holding it in place - this is the third one I've seen and it is the thickest so far. There were two other ones more like a string, stretchy and red. It reminds me of the sticky, stretchy membrane stuff you see aliens covered with in movies.. Anyways, I have attached a photo. Initially, it was one thick stringy thing and i pulled it apart into two parts and stretched them out. When i lift them off the paper they go back into a string formation retaining their shape.

Is it possible I can still be kind of pregnant, in other words, my body is not properly expelling the pregnancy (not a full miscarriage) or is this my body finally pushing all the pregnancy stuff out? If so, about how long does this process take on average?

I am 19 and slightly underweight.

Thank you, if anyone has answers I would greatly appreciate it!
