D&c after miscarriage concerns

I had a miscarriage last week and went for a d&c on Saturday morning. I was in my 12th week when I found out that the baby died in it's 9th week. Anyways it's been 2 days since the surgery and I've been feeling ok, sore and tired but not to terrible. Today I started eatting massive cramping that were making me nauseas and even making me sweat. I went to the bathroom and passed a blood clot the size if a ping pong ball. I don't know if that's normal. But I've been passing smaller clots all day after that with almost constant cramping. What should I do? Do I just let it keep going in or should I go in? I was pretty out of it when I got sent home so I can't remember what the dr said

I'm sorry for you loss. You should see your doctor or go to the hospital just to be sure everything is ok. I had a similar experience last year after my 2nd d&c, it turned out that I had an infection from the surgery and retained product (both common with d&cs), I spent 3 days in hospital on antibiotics and had a couple of ultrasounds to check my uterus. Your experience may be normal or something to be checked out, if your concerned you should see your doctor, I'm glad I did.

Thanks for all of the help... It's just so painful and going through it alone makes it really hard.

I am so sorry for ur loss....I too miscarried at 9 weeks. I had a d&c on 11/01...I experienced the same thing. It is perfectly normal as long as you are not running a temp over 101.The cramping is because ur body is passing those clots....try and lay down and tylenol....it should go away...if not try a heat pad...it helped me....again, I am so sorry for ur loss!

They should of given you written instructions. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get them. I would certainly give them a call and run your symptoms by them to make sure you aren't having anything that would be considered concerning or urgent. Bleeding and cramping are things I rember experiencing after my D&C for our miscarriage. I would be concerned if it is excessive bleeding.

I am sorry to hear of your loss.  I would let your doctor know what is happening. I did have lots of bleeding/cramping afterwards and I was put on medication for heavy bleeding ( cant remember the name of it) for about 5 days after.  Do you have discharge instructions from the hospital? They are not allowed to let you leave without having you or your husband sign that you were given instructions.
