Ectopic

Well it turns out I had an ectopic pregnancy. Was rushed to hospital and needed emergency surgery to remove to pregnancy . I also lost my left tube as it had ruptured. I'm completely devastated concerned now that I will never get to be a mummy. Dr said I should be happy that my right tube and ovary are fine and they managed to keep my left ovary. But isn't my left ovary useless without a tube. The dr didn't answer any of my questions. is there anyone out there who has had a successful pregnancy with only one tube. I can't stop crying and feeling like I'm no longer a full woman. Just want to know how it will all work now!

I'm sorry for your loss. I had an ectopic pregnancy in 1996 and my tube ruptured, so I know how your feeling. But on a positive note, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy in 1997and we weren't even trying!  You are just as much of a woman today as you were before having your tube removed. Keep your chin up and know that it is possible, i'm proof :)

im sorry for your loss. i had ectopic 5 yours ago i loss my right tube  i got pregnant again in 2007 and 2008 and had to girls and again 2009 dec and had a miscarriage a week ago. so you will be a mum xx good luck if you need to talk just let me know hayley

Hi just wondering when you started trying tc gain after your ectopic. It's been a week since mine and we have been intimate twice.....probably wasn't a good idea.

the gp said about 6mths but i started trying again 1 year after the ectopic. when you get pregnant you will need a scan at 6weeks just see that its not a ectopic again.but 1 tube is better then 2 bad tube so if i can have kids again so can you good luck hun you be ok.

hi there i had ectopic 21 dec 08 my advice is stop being intimate, if you fall pregnant your more likley to lose the baby again cos your body hasnt healed. wait 3-6 months cos you wont want to go through the pain of losing a second child. i lost my right tube, but im determind to stay positive.

You should have been advised not to have any sexual intercourse before 6weeks, i would really listen to your doctors advice on that one, youve had your insides messed with and tube removed and it takes a long time to heal. wish you the best of luck for when you do start trying

Talk to your gp about it. the doctor said to me wait 6weeks before sexual intercourse and 6 months before  trying again for a baby. but i wait for a year before trying for a baby and 2months for sexual intercourse cause i was to upset that was in 2005. now i got 3 kids all healthy girls. so keep positive you be ok.
