Fetal demise at 8 weeks found out at 11/12 what's next in this process

Hello everyone, I would first like to say. My heart goes out to each and everyone one of you. My situation is similar. I recently found out my fiance and I were expecting. We took a home pregnancy test on May 6th. Once we found out we both were very excited. So a few days later I had light spotting. I goto the er and was told it was normal and that the gestational sack was in the uterus.ok so this past Wednesday I noticed blood after using the bathroom. I immediately left work and headed to the er. I was told after my ultrasound that my baby was the size of a 8 week baby and I'm supposed to be 11/12. Since I have been devastated. All I was told to do was follow up with an ob gyn but the thought of having my dead baby inside of me has me completely numb. I honestly don't know what to do. So I go back to the er? Can the er perform the d and c? I need some advice ASAP.

Thank you again for your feedback. So I ended up passing the fetus naturally. Very painful process. So painful I went into the er once the results came in from the ultrasound it showed no fetus. Which made me very relieved that I didn't have to walk around with the dead fetus inside of me. Everything I've read on this site has been very helpful. I'd like to tank everyone for their support.

Thank you for the advice. I will be sure to follow up with my ob. I really feel like I'll just be passing the fetus naturally. At this point, but I still have a ton of questions.

I'm sorry you're going through this.  I had two early miscarriages,  and I know how sad this period of time is.

My OB's best advice was to wait and hope to miscarry naturally.  It's much easier on your body,  and it leaves you with no nagging doubt that you've accidentally ended a pregnancy that by some tiny miracle was possibly viable.  This one isn't,  but if you do a D&C now,  you may have a 1% doubt that haunts you.

The hopeful news for you,  is next time you have every reason to expect a good outcome.  Your body is holding on to this pregnancy with all you've got - the baby has stopped living,  but your body is still trying to carry the little one.

So often,  in pregnancies,  something goes wrong with the baby very early on.  The placenta doesn't attach correctly,  there is a problem with the way the fertilized egg's genes united,  etc.  A brand new fertilized egg has a LOT of steps to get through to develop into a viable fetus.

But your body is not willing to give this little one up just quite yet.

Prayers for peace for you at this time.  On Monday,  call your OB for advice,  but my best advice after calling is to ask to wait this out.  I would guess it won't be long - you're already spotting.
