First AF after M/C

First of all ... sorry I haven't been around much.  Got sick with Bronchitis and have been coughing for over 3 weeks and am just starting to feel human again.  I've been lurking some, but not posting or even around much lately.

In other news ... I got my first AF following m/c tonight!!!  The bleeding isn't heavy, but the cramps are very bad!  I hope this isn't an indication of what the whole thing will be like.  I couldn't wait to see her, and now I'm cursing her!

So it looks like I am now CD1

Well, gonna go lay on the couch and wait for the ibuprofen to kick in.  I guess if it doesn't improve I can take the meds left over from the m/c!  :)

Will check in later and get up to date on all the posts I've missed...  Hope all are doing well!

I hope you feel better soon!  My poor daughter has been feeling the same as you the past few weeks.  She's been back to the Dr twice already and put on antibiotics.  I am pretty close to you after the m/c, on cd3 now.  I had to take some leftover meds, so maybe it's another side effect of the m/c, having an extra miserable first af.

Sorry to hear that you have been feeling so bad, but I know how exciting that first AF after a miscarriage is.  You hate AF, but at least having something normal happen is good.  Take care of yourself, and keep us posted.

Congrats on that first AF, I know what a relief it can be! Hopefully your cycles will be back to normal! Are ya'll going to try again this month?

Thanks guys!  I am feeling even better today ... but not 100%.

I don't think we are going to try this month.  I have to get progesterone tested on cd21 to make sure it was the pregnancy and not something on my end that caused the low prog. last time.  I'll feel more comfortable seeing a bfp if I know my levels are all ok.

January will be game on though...  :)

I'm glad you're feeling better. I was sick on and off for the whole month...My first AF was terrible. I even told DH that it hurt so bad that it reminded me of losing the baby all over again. The next one wasn't as bad though. Good luck on your tests! We'll all be waiting for that BFP in the next couple of months...

This AF is horrible!  The cramps and bleeding are actually worse then with the miscarriage.  Of course I bled for 3 weeks with the m/c so I guess I just lost it gradually.  I am still coughing some and I swear every time I cough ... gush!  I know ... TMI!

Steph ... First AF was 1 day short of 4 weeks from the day I think I passed the baby.  I had about 2 weeks of bleeding, passed the sack (I think), and then about one more week of bleeding.  Then, another 3 weeks and AF!

I will probably not be around much for the next few days.  We got called back up to KC last night because dh Mom is back in the hospital and they are now talking hospice.  It has been a long 6 years of fighting cancer.  Right now she is sleeping and I decided to log on, check email and of course check in here.  Can you believe this hospital has wi-fi???

I have NO idea when to expect my first AF because I started my m/c on Nov 9, with passing tissue (I was just spotting prior to then for a week) so for the next week or 2 I was passing tissue and I'm almost done spotting at this point (well I thought I was done spotting last week, then yesterday started spotting again...so frustrating!!) So I'm not sure if I should expect my period about 4 weeks from when I was passing the most tissue or 4 weeks from when I STOP spotting, since this has this has been going on since the beginning of Nov?

From what I've read over the last little while is that it is 4-6 weeks after the  d&c or natural passing of tissue. I am waiting for mine too, it has been three weeks since my d&c. It is so strange wanting it to arrive for once, but then we can really ttc....although DH and I have been BDing unprotected, so who knows. I hope you get it soon, good luck.

Thanks for the response. I started to pass tissue on Nov 9 and continued to pass tissue for about a week and a half. So I'm hoping to have my first AF by the end of December. Does that sound like it could be about right? I'm confused though, because I'm still spotting and my hcg is still not down to less than 5.
