HCG levels after MIscarriage

Hi, My girl friend just had a miscarriage about 2 wks ago. Her HCG levels were at 526 then dropped to 500. She took another blood test on 2/7/12 and it read 126. Today she went to herdoctor's appointment and had more blood work done and my HCG levels are at 112. Could she have an etopic birth or what could be the problem. If any one has any comment or op...

It is unlikely that this is etopic.  With a natural miscarriage, it can take quite some time for our hcg levels to return to 0.  It is also always possible that there are retained products of conception which means that all the tissue has not passed.  It's good they are monitoring her and she is following up with her Dr.  The only extra piece of advice I would give is that if very heavy bleeding begins (a pad an hour) she should seek emergency medical treatment. That can sometimes happen if there is still tissue left.
