Hcg level 4030, then 4800 three days later

I went in to the hospital on Friday for bleeding, with no cramping or pains. My Hcg levels were at 4030, expecting them to double over the weekend I went back to the hospital on Monday. My level was about 4800. So we proceeded with an ultrasound, both outer and vaginal. The ultra sound showed an embryionic sac but no yolk sac and no heart beat. Because I do not know the last date of my period, the doctors are hoping I'm still just too early to tell if it is a miscarriage or not. I go back in for more blood work on Friday and another doctor visit next Monday, but I'm just wondering if I could get any input or any other'd experience. And I was wondering at what Hcg levels should one expect to hear a heartbeat. I know its different for each person, but there should be an average out there somewhere.

blood work came back again today, and it's not high enough. still going up, but not very much. and there is no yolk sac, so the doctors are really confused/concerned. Has anyone had this kind of issue before?

well i hate to not write something positive, my expirience was not, but also not exactly like your either.  i know when i was looking for answers i just needed SOMEONE to respond. First and foremost, i am praying you are not going to miscarry.  with me, i had my hcg levels monitored because i just had my first cycle since giving birth 16 months ago.  they doubled right off the bat,  52 to 106 in 2 days, then to 398 in 4 days, not too good, then 497 in 2 days, then we new it wasnt good.  5 days later it was 430.  then it tood me 2 1/2 weeks to start bleeding. and i bled for 18 days,  i hope everything works out for you.. you and baby are in my thoughts

thank you. i am hoping for the best. i did some research on yolk sac devlopment and timing and found that only 85% of women double like normal and that the yolk sac doesn't form till 5.5 weeks. Because i don't remember my last period date, i could have thought i was further along than i actually was. the bleeding has pretty much stopped, but it just doesn't feel right. so whatever happens happens. just tired of waiting. and so is my bf...

Hi, i've had 2 similar experiences the 1st one didn't end to good and to cut a long story short i miscarried Oct last year. After that miscarriage i had one period 4 weeks after i stopped bleeding from the miscarriage and i got pregnant again. They were monitoring my levels closely because of my m/c the month before and my levels weren't doubling again like they should. They were still going up alot better than they were with the one i miscarried but not doubling. Anyway i am now 38 weeks pregnant. So i would try not to worry although trust me its easier said than done. I wish you all the best and hope this is a viable pregnancy for you.
With the baby that i miscarried i saw the heartbeat at 5 weeks 3 days and that was with a viginal scan . Good luck i'll be thinking of you.

well i had the vag us today, and they found a heartbeat, said nothing about not seeing a yolk sac ( i did explain the previous visit to the tech) and figured out how far along I am. I am 6wks 2d, the baby measured 5mm, but only had a heart rate of 72bpm. The rate should be at 120, so its low. My hcg did go up to a lil over 6000 last fri, so it is steadily increasing, just not as fast as they'd like. I have no cramping or pain (like a mc), and minimal preggo sympt (same as 1st pg), and the bleeding slowed to spotting here and there. my doc said we're staying optimistcally cautious. which is a very good way to put it. my heart skipped a beat to know there was a heart beat! I'm hoping for the best. Thank you for your thoughts!
