I guess Ill phone the dr again

SO the pain in my lower abdomen is still there. Im soooo sick of it! I guess im going to have to phone the dr and talk with the nurse again today. im so scared he is gong to tell me to have the ovary removed again.

and im in the TWW as well... what if i got preggers and its too early to test for yet. will having a u/s done at this stage be bad for a egg implanting? im CD16 and not sure if I O'd on the 12th or 14th. What if he wants to do the scope befroe i find out. surly he would wait to see if i am fir sure before he would do that.

i guess ill find out what he wants to do today. Ill let you know

mikalee- the meds he gave are too strong just like the last ones. i took half last night with dinner and seemed ok so took the other half and was ok so I got too brave this morning and took a whole one with breakfast. an hours later I was so sick! bringing up the food i had eaten and sleeping for thee hours. i cant even go to the store with DH and the kids because i know ill get sick again. im trying to do homework but think ill have to lay down again.

Steph- no he didnt even suggest taking blood. I am sure he thinks if im not Oing its because of the cyst that was there. im going to try not test for a few months and then see what happens. I think its crazy that if it is endometriosis that i get it now with everything else thats been going on.

all- yes im happy that he said I can still TTC. cant believe he told me to start drinking though!

That's good news that you still have the green light to ttc. I have endometriosis and it's not fun, but I know that with all of this stuff going on down there I am eventually going to have to have a hystorectomy. My dr. even put a rush on me getting a BFP due to this nonsense. You mentioned it is worse after lots of BD'ing, I always hurt after BD'ing. At least everything he mentioned to you is fixable :D Did he take your blood to see if you had an elevated progesterone level which would have told if you O'd or not?

As long as the dr gave you the go ahead to keep TTC, I think that is the best news.  We are all praying that you won't need the scope, but if you do then hopefully this will put all of your questions to rest once and for all!!

How many DPO are you?

Hey nunu,
I hope the medications help with the pain.  I'm glad that you are stil allowed to ttc if you want to.  The simplest answer would be continued pain from the cyst bursting, so I wll keep my fingers crossed.  Its time we all got our BFP's and didn't have to see any more Dr's except for normal prenatal care!  I know it gets harder each time someone sees the Dr to digest every diagnosis that it COULD be, there are so many, sometimes.  It's a guessing game for them, like being a detective, and it depends on how good they are at putting together clues.  How much longer until you can test?  I hope you get a BFP and don't even have to worry about it anymore...

ok, so he decided not to do an u/s but rather an internal and use that thing they use to a pap smear. he probed abound my tummy and asked me if anything hurt when he pressed but it didnt. he then gave me some options.
He said he thinks it is one of two things. endometriosis or inflammation form the cyst bursting. the first thing he said to me when he walked into the room is he is still amazed that it was a cyst the burst. I asked if it was normal to have them that big and no it was so big that he thought it was something else and was wanting to take me to surgery to have the ovary removed.
he said I could go on birth control and see if that helps, but i said no.
he said i can have the scope and check for endometriosis. he said he can scrape it out for now but it will come back eventually. he also said he can put die in my fallopian tubes at the same time to see if they are blocked.
he said i can just leave it and see what happens.
he said that i still may not ovulate because of the cyst that was there. he also said that the OPK's are pretty accurate and because i haven't had a good positive I probably didnt. but I also have heard on here, cant remember by who) that they dont get a strong positive.
he said that if i wanted he would give me clomid but doesn't recommend it so close to having such a huge cyst and it may cause more problems. he did say he will be comfortable giving it to me in4-6 months if im still not getting good positive OPKs.
he said that I need to relax and not test for anything until March. he said i need to have a drink and relax. I said i dont drink because im Mormom. he was serious though!
the decision is what i knew would happen, but thought he would check for another cyst first. I am going to wait out for another two weeks to see if i get a BFP seen we were tying this cycle still. if no BFP and the pain is still there im going to have the scope. He gave me pain killers and Im still taking anti-inflammatory. he said both medications are fine if i am preggers.
to be honest after this AF I think I will try and just leave it for a few months. When I told DH that the dr said that I need to relax he accidentally snapped at me and said he agreed.  cant say that this is the only thing stressing me out right now but I told him he shouldn't have snapped at me and he agreed and  apologized.
I hope it is just inflammation! I dont want the scope but at least if I do have the scope ill know whats going on and if it is endometriosis he said he can clear some of it up in the mean time. he did say I can still TTC and that makes me happy. To be honest I think the pain got worse getting closer to Oing is because BDing irritated what ever is going on in there.

It's strange how much a dr's visit can drain you. I felt the same way yesterday.  Didn't feel much like posting, more like reflecting on what I'd heard so I could comit it to memory.  As soon as I get to work tomorrow I will check to see how you are doing.

It is weird how sometimes your body straightens up when you are pregnant. Not always though. I'm glad he saw you, but what are you going to do? Can you really go with POAS? I'll check again in the morning to see what more info you have.

i am back form the dr but cant believe how tired I am. I woke up tired as well. maybe im pregnant... lol.
anyways ill update you all in the morning i just dont think i can concentrate to get what was discussed out.
I will say he asked if i drink. I said no and he said im so stressed about it i should have a drink. He also told me not to test until March for anything.. not even OPK. he thinks i need to relax and and see what happens. He didnt do an u/s again either, just an internal exam. he also said i can still TTC all the same and thinks if i do get preggers it may help whats going on.
ill write more tomorrow. Thanks for the support guys. its means a lot to me and helps getting other opinions.

I was lucky and even though PCOS was mentioned it wasn't diagnosed.  I have never missed a period other than when I am pregnant.  I just kept getting cysts and the Dr. never figured out why I got so many.  It was strange, but only lasted a few months.  I've probably had some since then, I've felt the same pain occasionally, but not to the extreme it had been.  I'm sorry about your loss.  Were you on progesterone at the time?

Hi Nunu--- oh this must be so frustrating!  My RE mentioned that a cyst can keep you from getting a BFP because the hormones from the cyst conflict with the normal hormones for your cycle so your body gets mixed messages. They should be able to easily tell with an u/s if it is indeed a cyst causing the problems-- and if so, I can't imagine you'd need to have something done about it before you POAS unless it's really huge.  I've heard of people using birth control pills for a month or so to help them heal quickly of you're not pg.  Has your Dr said anything about PCOS?

I have always had very irregular cycles- for example- going 9 months without a cycle and then getting pregnant. ( I did that with my 2nd child).  My progesterone levels are always low.  I had blood drawn to test for PCOS- such as test. levels, etc.  I also have the problems with facial hair.  My biggest symptom is not ovulating and having a lot of cyst pain from the ovaries.  It is very frustrating as we would like to have another baby.  It has now been a year since my loss.  (I was 16 weeks when I lost my baby).

I hope things go well today and you can finally get some answers.  I am 13 weeks 2 days now, and I have no signs of the nausea/ morning sickness letting up.  I just don't understand how with all of the technology drs still have so much trouble sometimes just making a diagnosis :)  Good luck today, and please keep us posted.

I hope it's nothing more than cysts.  I imagine if it was that the pain would get worse around O because that's when you'd be developing a new one.  Does it last all the way until AF?  Even if he has to go in with a scope doesn't mean he'll find something bad.  I'm not really sure what he'd be looking for, but if last cycle he said it's ok to keep ttc it may be something that would be simple to fix, just hard to find.  I will keep my fingers crossed that you get a BFP and the pain stops and everything is good.

my cycles have always been regular. between 27 and 30 days as a teenager. then 28 days as an adult. when i go on the injection they stop all together. i came off the depo a year before i got preggers. i bled for one week every two weeks for the first few months then my cycle would be between 23 and 31 but then evened out to 27 days. after the d&c they have been 27DC even counting the first one that i should have got but the blood couldnt come out because of the closed cervix. except my last one was 25 days.
my symptoms have been pain in my lower abdomen since the d&c but every time I go see the dr about it he finds something different to blame it on. first the closed cervix (the pain went for a bit after the bad pain when AF should have arrived but then came back after he opened my cervix). then the cyst he found when he opened my cervix burst two weeks later, then the huge growth that he thought was something else that was gone the next time i went for a check up, that burst as well. when I left that check up he said i will be a little sore a few weeks because it was a huge cyst that was nearly the size of the ovary, but it got worse as O day came closer.
the fact that it gets worse when O day gets closer worried me. In a way i want him to find a cyst because i know that isnt too bad. i dont want him to have to go in with a scope because that means there may be something bad that he cant see with an u/s!

What were your sympoms before you were diagnosed?  When I went for an u/s with my m/c the Dr. asked if i ever had really long cycles, and I told her no, I'm usually always 31 days.  She was looking at my ovaries and I guess all the cysts I've had were visible or I had a bunch more, I'm not sure, and she mentioned PCOS but since my cycles were pretty regular that was the end of it.

What about you nunu?  I haven't been around long enough to notice if you have really irregular cycles.  I know poor Steph needs answers for her 41 day cycle, but are yours usually regular?

Has your doctor said anything about the possibility of PCOS?  I was having lots of pain and have had PCOS for 20years.  I have had 3 healthy children and lost my last one, but have had trouble conceiving.  I still get lots of pain on my sides frequently and know when a cyst has burst.  Hopefully, you will get good news soon.  Good luck at your appt.

I remember you telling that you have a lot of cysts. do they cause you as much pain as they used to? it so stupid that i get them all now after i have a m/c and want to TTC again. as i said its not bad that i cant handle it but bad enough that when im at the gym i aggravate it and refuse to work my abs. when i sit it hurts as well and even laying down its worse. its also starting to go into my back.
I hope that they are just cysts, but im worried they are stopping me form ovulating. if im not preggers then maybe ill ask the dr to check my blood around O time to see if i am.
you know thinking about it... I had my appendix taken out and they said that it wasnt as bad as they thought it was so they went and took cysts off my fallopian tube. I was 19 years old. so maybe the cysts were causing the pain back them. ive never had a problem since though until now.

I feel like its never ending!
Mikaleen- I am thinking that i get a cyst every cycle because i havent got a good positive OPK like i did the month i got preggers. but they seem to be getting bigger every time the first one was small then the second was so big that why he thought it was something else. I hope I am the same as you and it goes away!

Meko- I am thinking that if it does keep on doing this then Ill have it taken out. he said my left ovary has lots of eggs in it so i guess thats a good sign if i do have one taken out. But my biggest concern is if the good one decided to go kaput on me then im screwed! my dr said if i did have one taken out the left one may take over and work double time and ovulate every month. He was so shocked when i went for my last check up and it was totally gone.

Kgokgo- it is always nice to hear good stories! i needed that thank you!!!!! every time the pain gets worse around O time I wondered if i did actually O then what would happen if i got preggers and had a huge cyst like last time. I wonder if i am in constant pain now (not so bad I cant handle it, but its there) then would it be worse with a growing baby in me. How long after the baby is born will they take the cyst out? If i can get preggers with this going on then i want the ovary taken out. if i can have one baby then ill be happy and wont be so stressed about having one ovary.

Mapes- If im not happy with him after my visit tomorrow than im going to get a second opinion. if he cant see a cyst then i am sure he will have to go in with a scope but the nurse said we will wait until we know if im preggers or not. How are you **** anyways? How far along are you now? are you still having morning sickness?

Since you have been writing about all your pain and stuff it sounded SO familiar.  I found my journal when I was in college and every entry was about the pain in my belly.  It just kept happening.  Mine turned out to be just those nagging cysts.  They eventually went away by bursting and I still have plenty I contend with.  I am hoping it is the same for you, they are a pain in the ---  I guess I could say pain in the abdomin, but they were never any cause for worry as far as ttc or a baby.  I hope they can get you out of pain and find something out that they can do that is easy for you and not having to remove any ovaries.  I am with Bam, if they aren't helping you enough, switch dr.s and start over!  Sometimes a 2nd opinion is the light at the end of the tunnel :)

I know it just feels like how much can one person endure.  I am so sorry for your stress, and I pray that you will get some answers (real answers) tomorrow.  If you are even the least bit unsure after your appt tomorrow, I would definitely see another dr just to put your mind at ease.  You don't have to "change" drs just to get a second opinion.  My dr said he would recommend another dr if I wanted a second opinion one time.  Most good drs understand your struggle and are sympathetic.  I pray that your BFP comes soon and puts an end to all of these struggles.  Try to keep your head up.  We are all here for you and wishing we could be there with you during this difficult time.  (((((((here are all our arms around you )))))))))

Sorry to hear you are still having problems with the ovary. Like everyone said, its best to have the bloods first before any poking and proding. If it turns out you are pg, I think you might still be okay. A friend of mine (one of my many friends who are pg at the moment grrrrrrrr) had been experiencing similar pains as to yours and she discovered she was pg whilst she was waiting for her app at the hosp (she had had pains for about 3 months). When she went for her scan they discovered that she had a cyst which was bigger than the baby at that time. They said it won`t harm the baby, but they`ll just monitor it. She is due on Valentine`s day and she is doing fine except some occassional pain. The cyst stopped growing and will be taken out once the baby is delivered.

Hope everything will be ok. You are in my prayers.
