I think i'm having a miscarriage.

I'm not even sure if I'm pregnant, I was do to get my period on the 14th of this month. A couple days ago i had some cramping but no bleeding, Yesterday i woke up and i had some spotting, i didn't feel to well so i went back to bed, i woke up and was bleeding heavy. It's not like a normal period and it was dark and had lots of clots. I haven't really had any pain but the bleeding is starting to concern me. It stop and then returns, the clots where large but now there small. I'm probably not making a lot of sense but I'm scared and i don't know what to do. Is it possible to be bleeding like this and still be pregnant? When should i take a test?

It doesn't sound like a miscarriage because you usually start bleeding before cramping and you would most likely be cramping now (and not the normal stuff, but heavy duty). Also, the bleeding wouldn't likely come and go like that. You could take a test by tomorrow (or even today if you want), but even if it is a miscarriage, then you could still get a positive test because the hormones don't disappear that quickly. Good luck.

There can be several reasons for what is going with you. You could have had a miscarriage or you could be having a heavy period. I once had a really light period and the next one was not very pleasnt for me. I guess my body had not gotten rid of everything. It sounds like heavey periods are not normal for you, so I would suggest calling the doctor and making an appointment. The best way to get rid of your fear is to arm yourself with knowledge. Consult the doctor.

Jhanee.

I would test immediately...however, the chances that you would continue to be pregnant after having clotting and heavy bleeding are rare. If you were pregnant your levels may still be high enough to pick up on a test..but are proabably dropping quickly. There are so many women who go through spontaneous miscarriages..and just think they are having a late period. Maybe go in to see your doctor. I can tell you that when I had an early miscarriage and knew I was pregnant, just by getting an exam my doctor was able to tell me that I was miscarrying. best of luck
