Intercourse after D&C

I had a D&C 7 days ago.  I thought my doctor said it was ok to have intercourse after 1 week and I did.  Well, it turns out it was 2 weeks so now I'm nervous.  We used a condom.  Has anyone had intercourse 1 week after D&C?  If so, did you get an infection?

Hi I just had a D&C 11 days ago. My Doctor said it was ok once you stop bleeding. But i had sex on day 9 post op after i'd stopped bleeding after 7 days. But I have started bleeding again. So not sure. I think if you feel ok it should be fine, also it is sperm that causes the infection from sex. So you should be fine.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
I had sex after I stopped bleeding after my D&C. It was about 9 days after and I was fine. I've heard of others that had did a week or so after and were fine. Just watch for signs of a problem, but you should be fine.

Thank you VERY MUCH for responding!  I couldn't call my doctor since it was the weekend.  I feel so relieved to hear you guys!  I will call my doctor tomorrow just to let her know, but I'll be able to sleep tonight :)

I'm feel so sorry for your loss....visiting forums and hearing from other people who have been through the same tragedy lets me know that I'm not going insane and that others understand how I feel.  Btw, this was my 2nd d&c because the doctor missed all of the baby from the first d&c she performed on me 2 months ago.

Yeah, Don't worry about it! I had intercourse 1 week after my D&C and no infection at all. Im so sorry for you loss.
