Miscarriage signs but little bleeding

Went to the OB on Tuesday and confirmed that I have a blighted ovum, two ultrasounds with an empty gest sac and plateauing hCG levels. The OB suggested that we allow the miscarriage occur naturally first before we consider the d&c.

Two days later, I started having horrible cramps, like I have never had before. The only thing I could possibly compare the pain of the cramps to would be childbirth. I was doubled over in pain and in tears for about 10 hours. Here's what concerns me: I was bleeding, but not enough to soak even one pad. The only time any amount of blood and clotting came out was when I had to use the toilet. I would bleed enough to drip out when I was on the toilet. However, when I was laying on the couch, I had very little bleeding.

The cramps are a lot better today. I feel much better, but I'm just VERY tired.  

The OB told me to expect to go through three or four pads at least, but I haven't. I have all the other signs of a miscarraige (miscarriage) except the heavy bleeding.

Was this just a tremor before the earthquake? Should I be expecting more to come or was that the miscarriage?

This is my first miscarriage so I'm new to this process...

I had a miscarriage on tuesday and wednesday.  I had severe cramps  and severe pain (just like childbirth)  for about 15 hours.  I passed the sac and some clots, but I did not have a lot of bleeding either.  I am bleeding more now.   My doctor said it would be just like labor.  the uterus has to have contractions.

I am concerned if you havent had enough bleeding.  Do you have a follow up appt?  you may need a d&c.  how far along were you?  I was 13 weeks.  I am devistated.

I was 6.5 weeks... My gest sac was on 1cm so I'm not sure that I would have noticed it specifically amongst the other clots. I was having around 5 or 6 clots coming out when I went to the toilet. But nothing really significant on the pads. I am just really tired today, but I feel better than I did yesterday. My cramps were just like the ones you had. Mine started at noon and ended around 10pm.

I'm very sorry for your loss. My husband and I are very disappointed. We were so excited.

This is concerning.. I had cramps most of the day yesterday and the stopped late last night. Woke up this morning and have had very little pain, cramping or bleeding at all. Now, the cramping is coming back and is getting worse again. Still not much bleeding.

Has anyone else experienced this?

yes.  actually my cramps did subside late tuesday night and wed morning.  then they came back stronger than ever early wed afternoon.

Thank you... My first miscarriage, and hopefully my last, so I'm prob being hypersensitive to every little thing...
