Miscarriage

What are some ways to prevent miscarriage? I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks on June 5th. They said that the baby stopped growing at 8-9 weeks. I was taking my prenatal vitamins a month before I got pregnant. I had to do progesterone suppositories starting at 7 weeks. Do you think that maybe they just started me on the progesterone too late and thats why I miscarried? I don't know a lot of stuff about OB so I'm a bit confused on how it all works, I ask my doctor but it seems that I just come out of there feeling like my questions weren't answered. Thanks.

you need to have a regular cycle. Sometimes this can take a little while. And i would advise time for healing. I had a miscarriage 3/15 and just found out i was pregnant. I wasnot trying yet but my ovulation obviously was still irregular

Thanks for your advice. We plan to start trying again soon. Do you know how long to wait to start trying again after D&C? This past week I had my first period. So I've had one cycle. I don't know how long to wait. I'm very anxious to try again.

I'm sorry for your loss. Honestly there is nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage. There are some things to do to try and keep the pg viable but that is usually in your 2nd trimester and usually when you are having complications. Progesterone doesn't prevent a m/c it is an added measure of precaution. You can do everything right and still suffer a m/c. There are so many reasons why we miscarry. It is nothing you did. Did your dr run any tests ? If you feel as though your questions are not being heard maybe you should see another dr. Most of the time there is no solid reason why we have a m/c. The best advice I can give you is to give some time for your body to heal. I would have a follow up app to make sure you are recovering well and check your hcg levels to make sure they go to zero. You need to let your heart and head heal as well. You suffered a devastating loss. I have been in your shoes it is a very traumatic time and it leaves us with alot of unanswered questions . I can tell you everyday that goes by a little piece of you gets stronger! This forum is a great start! I'm here if you need to talk. Best wishes to you and I hope you have a nice and easy recovery.......
