I had a bff use it and within 24 hrs she was expelling the pg. I would reccomend asking your dr though just to make sure. Everyone is different. In the meantime I would rest and stay hydrated. Try not to be alone. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Let me know if you need to talk. Take care and best wishes to you....

I took misoprostol and I felt the cramping within 4 hours and passed the fetal tissue after 8 hours of taking it. Hope it went well for you. It was a terrible experience for me. I had a horrible reaction to the drug and basically went into full labor for 12 hours on the misoprostol. I have been bleeding for 4 weeks now, but I understand some people only bleed for a week or two after.

I think there is alot of misunderstanding about how misoprostol works. I was certain it didnt work for me, but it did. I took on a thurs evening, within an hour I was bleeding slightlty, but bright red and some period like cramps(not too bad) two hrs later I had contractions for about 2 more hrs. They were very strong, worse than, i remember from my 2 actual live births! They got closer together until they were back to back and then starting spresding farther apart until they quit. I kept waiting to pass the tissue and everything but nothing was happening. I took 4 pills in the cheek, and that was all i got. 3 and 4 days went by and still just slight bleeding and once in a while some pretty bad cramps. I was sure it didnt work. Day six rolls around and I have horrible crippling pain in my stomach for about 15 min. this is after days of nothing, not even cramps! I sorta felt better with the pain if I pushed a little. 15 minutes and that pain was gone. Back to feeling fine. 30 minutes later I went to pee and got a shock- there, in my pad, was my 8 week fetus and sac. That was tramatizing but I realized the pain I had felt was actual birth pains. Day 7, felt fine, thought it was finally over and had worked. Day 8, i woke up and had the worst period like cramps ever! Then I had back spasms, one after another. I took my loratab and sat with a heating pad on my belly then my back for almost 3 hours and then I felt well enough to go out. I returned home an hour later, went to pee again and a handful of tissue and clots came out, i was shocked at the amount but knew it was good it was out. Few hours later I was barely spotting and 2 days later, here i am, not bleeding or in pain at all. The pain definately warrents narcotics but it's bareable, barely! I know now that it did indeed work. It took 6 days for anything to pass though. they make it sound like its over in a day or two when in fact, i think its much more common for it to take a week or two to completely pass everything, so don't worry ladies, unless its been at least a week!

Yes, everyone is different! I expected it to pass in a day but it was 6 days before I did!

I too went into actual labor for about 4 hours, still was better than surgery to me tho, it was traumatizing.
