Pregnancy after Miscarriage

by lw8843, Jun 28, 2008 08:54AM
On Feb 25 I went to the Dr. and found out I was pregnant. But because I was having bleeding on and off the Dr. Sent me for HCG levels and an ultra sound. We were guessing I was about 4-5 weeks. However HCG came back at 1300 and ultra soud showed nothing not even a sac. THe doctor decided I was actually more like 8-9 weeks and said I would most likely miscarry. My HCG levels kept going up but only like 500 pts every week. So the doctor said I needed a D&C and that it might be etopic. I had the D&C on March 21. She found no fetal tissue durning the D&C. But my HCG levels started to drop and went back to normal. She then put me on Clomid, because I wasn't ovulating. Then on June 23 I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. THe Dr. sent me for HCG levels and on June 24th they were 95 and on June 26th they were 197. She said that is good and said I don't need to have any more HCG levels or an ultra sound but I a worried. As my levels did get up to 3100 before so how will she know this early if there is a problem? She I ask to have more done? I am on promitrium 100mg twice a day. But I am worried that something might go wrong. I do have a 20 month old and that was my 1st miscarriage so should I be concerned? She doesn't want to see me until I am 10 weeks.  I am so worried, but want to be excited. I want this baby so bad! Please help.

It si normal to be concerned. Many woman go thru m/c and then go on having healthy pregnancy. I would suggest your doc to monitor your levels just in case, at least a few times before the 10wk appt. That would make you feel better just to know that everything is going on well; on the other hand you need to consider that everytime you go in to take your blood you'll probably become anxious, sooo it is up to you, what ever makes you feel better. If i were you, I would probably ask to have them done just in case, but thats just me. I hope for the best and wish you happy 9 months! Congrats!!!
