Questionable treatment for possible ectopic pregnancy

So I found out I was pregnant Saturday, they said in the ER (I was there D/T severe upper quadrant pain, biliary colic). My HCG was 1200, and they said I was about 5 weeks along, they did a transvaginal ultrasounds and abdominal ultrasound, they saw no trace of a sack in my uterus. I understand it's very early and that's not unusual  but the next day I went back d/t some cramping and they took blood and said the HCG went up a little bit but I didn't get the number. They recommended to come back or get checked out by an OB today, and that by today they would be able to see something in my uterus. So today I went to a women's clinic/OB had my blood drawn (do not know the results yet but they said it should have doubled by today) did another transvaginal ultrasound, there was nothing in my uterus again. The Doctor in the ER and the OB think it's highly probably that it's ectopic or in the process of a natural miscarriage. The doctor today said that the pregnancy would not be viable so he gave me the medication for a medical abortion (mifepristone and methotrexate). He said if the egg was ectopic that there was a 40% chance that the meds would take care of it, from what I've been reading is that with an ectopic pregnancy you should never take those meds. I am getting random stabbing pains on my left side but nothing very bad. I took the mifepristone this morning and have had no real reaction as described in the information my Doctor gave me, no cramping or bleeding, I do however feel very hyper (can't sit still, easily distracted) , dizzy, nauseous and kinda confused, I got lost and completely disoriented in my apartment building. Any advice, should I got to a different OB for a second opinion, I'm supposed to take the second pills, methotrexate tomorrow or Weds. I have a follow up appt with the same OB to check blood levels and confirm if its ectopic or not. Another factor is that after I had my daughter 2.5 years ago I had an IUD (Mirena) placed, well my body rejected it in a week or two. I called my OB at the time because I was bleeding and cramping excessively, they did an ultrasound to see what was going on and the IUD was completely flipped over/upside down and getting pushed out. They pulled it out immediately, and my doctor was in shock because she's never seen it before and never heard of that being able to happen. I never got a follow up evaluation on that and wonder if anything was damaged during that ordeal, if that could cause or be a factor in an ectopic pregnancy. I did mention it to the doctor today and asked if that could be the reason my body could be susceptible to an ectopic pregnancy, the way he answered no, seemed like he didn't really know.  Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
