My dr called today and said that my numbers were going down and I was starting to miscarry our little angel. They were 284 on Friday and today they were 150. My questions are: How long will it take to reach 0? When will I start to bleed?
I'm so sorry you are going through this. how far along were you? I was 13 weeks. Had my miscarriage the end of September. my body took care of everything naturally. it was very painful both emotionally and physically. I was not given a choice to have a d&c. I'm glad I had it naturally. from what I understand your body recovers faster if it is natural. I wasn't given any info either. this is what happened to me.....
I began some light spotting at almost 13 weeks. it was dark brown. the spotting continued for 4 days. on the 5th day it got heavier. By that night I had VERY intense cramps, back pain, dizzyness, nausea. The intense pain continued through that night. The pain got lower into my pelvis (felt like labor. have you ever had a baby?) I found that walking around helped. When I did lie down I used a heating pad. The 6th day I passed the sac. It was very difficult emotionally to see everything. The pains increased for a couple of hours, and I passed a few clots. By the 7th day my body felt a lot better. the next few days I felt peroid like cramping with moderate back pain. A few days later I got some cramps and discomfort again (but not really bad). I then passed some very large blood clots. My body then felt a lot better.
sorry if this is TMI. I just wanted you to know what to expect. I tried pain pills and they did not help at all, but they did let me sleep. My emotions have been horrible. (feel free to read my posts). I was mad at everyone and sent hateful emails. I'm feeling better now.... i guess. I am so glad to have found this site. The responses I got were overwhelming and made me fee not so "empty" inside.
all in all, even though it was physically painful, I'm glad I had miscarried naturally (instead of d&c). I feel that since my body went through all the motions I got a little bit of closure. I noticed on this site that some women bleed a week, some bleed for a few. everyone is different.
You MUST follow up with the doc to be sure everything is ok. follow a pregnancy test back to negative! It is rare, but some women don't pass everything and it can be very dangerous.

He did not tell me anything about miscarriages. I am very unimpressed with him! I have begun to bleed now. I am guessing my body will take of it. Thank goodness!
