Scared at 6 weeks

Hi, i'm six weeks pregnant and earlier today i started bleeding. At first it was like my period started but now it's tapered off to almost nothing. I m/c back in 11/2010. I haven't even made my first ob appt yet as i just took my hpt last Saturday.  Not sure what i should do and don't want to make an unnecessary trip to the ER.

I would go to the ER. Hope your feeling better...get checked asap. Knowing exactly what your dealing with will help.

If you are bleeding/spotting and you are pregnant the first thing to do is see immediate care by your OBGYN or go to the ER in the event that your doctor cannot see you. Many woman spot/bleed and it could be normal but only a doctor should tell you that after a proper check up.
Unfortunately as you already know if you are miscarrying there is nothing that can be done this early in the pregnancy. However, it is very important to screen you for possible life threatening situations related to your pregnancy such as the possibility on an ectopic pregnancy.

Thanks for the input. Today it's been off and on. Thought about going to the ER just to have them do levels and a u/s. At least then i'd be more informed.

keep an eye on it and if it stops hopefully things will settle down, unfortunatley  there is no way of knowing what will be the outcome unless you have your hcg levels done or an u/s done, some ladies bleed and everything is fine, while others spot/bleed and then miscarry
