Still bleeding and losing patience...

Has anyone else had ongoing bleeding after a miscarriage? I am currently going through my 2nd m/c and have been bleeding quite steadily for 2 weeks now. I had a missed m/c and this time opted for the Cytotec pills to induce me to pass everything, but since I took the 4th dose 2 weeks ago, I have not stopped bleeding. The baby was only 6 weeks along, so I feel like there shouldn't be that much blood to begin with. I passed the sac and tissue and everything within the first 2 days, and so it has just been blood since then.
I'm just wondering if anyone else had their bleeding go on for so long. When did it finally stop? I am so scared to get my hcg tested this weekend, b/c I feel like the bleeding is evidence enough that my levels have not gone down very far. I will be so heartbroken if the levels are still high. I just want the bleeding to stop! I want this miscarriage to be over, so I can try to pick up the pieces and move on (which is so hard, I know). Thank you for any comments you have about this! It's so hard to not feel hopeless when you are forced to see the physical side of the m/c every single day for so long. :(

I have had the same thing, it seems like the bleeding has stopped and then all of a sudden a rush for about an hour! it has only been a week for me but I am definatly ready for it to stop! let me know if the IBprofin thing works, might have to try that.
The D&C wasnt too bad, I have only had minimal pain and I was up and about the next day feeling fine all considered. I really hope I dont get the month of bleeding....fingers are crossed.....Sorry to here about your second M/C, life can really kick you in the *** sometime.
All the best to you!!

Thanks for the response! I talked to the nurse and she assured me that some women can bleed even up to 6 weeks (please God, don't let it last that long!). She said my body might be shedding lining and then reproducing it at the same time, as my hormones try to balance themselves out. She also said that taking Ibuprofen can help lessen or stop the bleeding b/c it can cause the uterus to clamp down and kind of close it off. I am trying that now and hope it helps! I am so tired of the bleeding... I'm at 2 weeks today. I thought it was slowing down as all day I only had old, dark brown blood, but then later this afternoon there it was again, heavy and bright red. :( So frustrating! I hate this part of the waiting...
I also had my hcg levels drawn an hour ago. I'm so nervous to see if they are still elevated or not... I hope they're down!

I'm so sorry about your D&C. :( I had one in December and it was awful. I had no pain, but did bleed for over a month. I hope yours is much shorter than that.
God bless!

I had a D&C 6 days ago and am still spotting and having light cramps at times. All I know is what the Dr. said, which is that you can spot for several weeks after a M/C. You would only be concerned if you were in pain or soaking through more then one pad in an hour, because that could mean your body is trying to pass something and it is not going so well. It definatly *****, but eventaully it will stop!!
Good luck and I hope you get back to normal quickly!
