Upper abdominal pain & contractions

I am 11 weeks pregnant and last night I awoke to very severe abdominal pain, above my belly button. It lasted for about 20 to 30 minutes and was so bad I could not move, was laying on one side doubled over, breathing hard , couldn't say anything but moan and cry. It was horrible. I also started feeling.g like I was having contractions. After awhile, the pain started to go but I had more contractions. I thought I was losing the baby. No bleeding though. Today, I feel better but have had a few sharp pains in different areas of my stomach and when I get up to walk, I feel like my stomach is very tight and I can't stand up straight. Is this a sign of miscarriage or could this something else? If on not bleeding, does that mean everything is fine?

Thank you everyone. I have an appt with my midwife in a couple days and will let her know about it. Since that night, it has not happened again, only mild cramping. So, I think it must have been, gas, constipation or something like that. I've been drinking more water because I read that can help.

Could you be constipated? Or maybe ate something difficult to digest? I had severe cramping in the first trimester because my body was having a difficult time digesting milk products. I hope you feel better soon. You should definately talk to your doctor just in case.
Wishing you the best

I really don't know how to answer this question.. But if it's really painful, and they're occurring regularly I would go to the ER, to get a check up on bubby. Because it's better to be safe then sorry.
