fell on ice

I just fell down to my left knee this morning on ice.  Can that cause a miscarriage? I am currently about 8 weeks along.

Thanks.  I had a doctor's appointment and it seems like everything was okay.  I was just worried!

Almost any kind of stress could be bad enough to cause miscarriage but that would not necessarily do so. Did you feel like your abdomen took a hard blow? If not, your body has a lot of safeguard to protect the baby. I read a woman talk about her great dane jumping up on the couch and landing straight on her pelvic region (causing pain). She was worried but it didn't cause any trouble at all. I've also known women who were in car accidents while pregnant. They got hurt but did not miscarry.

If you're worried, call your doctor or a doctor and ask to speak to the nurse.
