intrauterine fetal death

by cesrian, Oct 03, 2008 01:04PM
I recenty had Intrauterine fetal Death at 22 weeks gestation. My doctor suppects that its bec. of my borderline low TSH and borderline high T4. I've never been hyperthyroid in my entire life nor have the symptoms of Hyperthyroidism. I've read that there's something called Transient Gestational Hyperthyroidism which usually resolves after 1st trimester. I'm confused? because at 12 weeks gestation I had a terrible vehicular accident and since then having back pain and numbness on my lower extremities. And another thing is that my another doctor told me before this conception that I have a Polycystic Ovary. If I have thyperthyroidism then I should be having high progesterone level which is good for my pregnancy. But if I have Polycystic Ovary, then I should be having LOW progesterone level which is and should be HYPOTHYROID which is not good for my pregnancy. If I have hyperthyroidism, then my progesterone level is HIGH which is good for my pregancy. My question is that: is it possible to have hyperthyroidism and have with low progesterone level? Has been my borderline hyperthyroidism, vehicular accident and a possible low progesterone level the culprit of me lossing my baby? I appreciate anybody sharing their knowledge regarding this. Thank you. God bless!

i would ask your doctor if there is any way he can give you a refferal to a reproductive specialist.  they are so great and can answer lots of tricky questions,  i am so sorry for your loss.  i had 2 MC's in the past so know a small bit of what you ar efeeling but at 22 weeks, the doctors always tell us we are safe so we do not think of something like this.  Again i am so sorry.
