low progesterone levels and miscarriage

by mel663, Oct 02, 2009 09:38PM
I have been bleeding and had an IUD so I went to  the dr., concerned with the bleeding.  They did a test and realized I was pregnant. I really believe at this time that I was only 7dpo.  They removed the IUD and also did an HCG and progesterone test on that day.  The bleeding had let up mostly, but the dr. called with the results of the first test....they don't have the results from 48 hrs later yet.....The results for 7dpo are HCG 53 and progesterone 0.9.  They are concerned with the low progesterone and feel I probably have already lost the baby or will.  The results from the second test will also confirm the doctor's feeling...but it's torturing waiting all weekend until we find out.  Any help?  Is there anyway the baby could live?  The HCG is strong for 7dpo, but I don't know/understand much about progesterone.....

Thanks!!
