measuring small for 1st ultrasound

by shenac, Aug 06, 2009 12:41PM
I went to the doctor for my first ultrasound appt. on 8-4-09. From my calculations, I would have been 9w4d. The ultrasound showed me only to be about 6w along. My doctor told me that there was a 90% chance I was going to miscarry. I had blood work done, and my HCG levels were over 75,000. The nurse told me that was very high.
I had more blood work done today, I won't know more until tomorrow. What is going on?  Please help...

Well there is good news in this, your hcg is high! that is great!!!! Ya know, it is possible that you ovulated later than what you thought....that does happen. Just hope for the best, and prepare for the worse. Don't worry yourself to much, stressing can cause you to miscarry. Your in my prayers!

Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Are the levels high for being 9 weeks or high for being 6 weeks?
I have no idea

Hi, try this link. It will help you to understand where your hcg levels should be through each week of your pregnancy! Good luck!

Just got a call from the doctor, my levels went down. They wanted me to wait until Monday to have an ultrasound and talk about my options, I told them I was not waiting. I have an appointment in three hours.
