thanks so much ladies! your stories gave me an ease.God bless!
i had a natural mc in dec i was 7 weeks, and was really pleased that i didnt require a d n c, it depends on how far along the pg is if your quite far along you'll more than likely need a d n c , your lucky you didnt have to have 1 :)
I just found out that I had a natural m/c and my RE said the same thing -- he advised me that he only does a D&C if absolutely necessary.
I was just going to tell you what mikaleen said. I had a natural m/c and am very thankful that they didn't have to do a d&c.
My Dr. tries to avoid D&C's unless absolutely necessary, because there is always the risk of scar tissue developing. Some women get pregnant right after a d&c and have a healthy pregnancy, but in some research there has been a correlation between D&C and a slightly higher rate of m/c in prgnancies conceived right after. The uterine lining is scraped very low, and is not always suitable for proper implantation. It is a surgical procedure, and like all procedures has risks.
I'm sorry about your loss. I had my first natural miscarriage 10years ago and immediately fell pg with my son who is now almost 10. Last year I had 2 miscarriages both natural. The first one was spontaneous and the second one I waited for 6 weeks to miscarry coz I didn't want a d and c. If the u/s showed that your uterus is now clear there is nothing to stop you pg again. My last m/c was in Oct and an u/s two weeks later still showed remaining pg material which I later naturally passed in Nov. I'm now 5 weeks pg again.
I had a natural m/c in 1995 and got pg soon after, sadly ended in an ectopic (tube ruptured) and then got pg again soon after and delivered a healthy baby boy in 1997. I hope this was helpful :)
