miscarriage?

My breasts have recently begun to leak milk, after an eratic loss of blood and brown discharge the week before. i have been on the pill for two and a half months continuous so haven't noticed a missed period, but did have pregnancy symptoms of nausea, larger appetite, constipation and tender breasts. Could this mean that i experienced a miscarriage or is there another reason for this? I have been pregnant before two years ago where I had an abortion so this could mean stimulation could lead to milk production without pregnancy?

I would consult a doctor.  I never realized myself producing milk until a year after the miscarriage. However, the doctor says that I more than likely was producing milk I just had not bumped something hard enough to produce the milk to come out.

There is a possibility that you did suffer a miscarriage.  If you go to the doctor now they can do a blood test to see if you have any hcg left in your system.  They also should be able to help with the milk portion of it to.  However, even if you think you did have a miscarriage I advise being checked just to ensure that you had fully miscarried and that there is not any tissue that is left.

By the sounds of it you did not produce milk until a few years after your pregnancies, I did however produce milk after my pregnancy did not result in delivery of the baby two years ago, and haven't experienced any leaking since. I am not aware of real terms and causes so I mat have read wrongly. Currently I do feel I did suffer a miscarriage due to sudden blood loss and pelvic pain, but I cannot be certain, so would you advice seeing a doctor to check the cause?

Copied this from my post in the 18-34 forum hope it helps.

I have had 4 miscarriages and in October of 2007 I noticed if I hit my chest the wrong way I would be covered in milk.  At first it was clear (colostrum spelled wrong probably) then turned to milky white. I have been to the doctor about it and he ran a few test and everything came out normal.  I do not do it all the time but if I do hit my chest on something or if I squeeze the nipple I do produce milk.  The doctor told me that sometimes when women get pregnant and even though you do not deliver sometimes your body doesn't respond to the loss of the baby.  They also said some womens milk comes in from this and some it just comes in from being pregnant but you don't notice it until a year or so later.  Most people dry up and others dont.  I'm one that doesn't.  I would consult with your doctor and let them know b/c they really need to do some test to make sure there isn't anything wrong with certain glands.
