miscarried 4 weeks ago but could i be preg?

hello. i found out i was preggo on 1/5 and the next day was told that i was going to miscarry. my hcg was 52 and progesterone was 0.3. two days later my hcg was 72 and prog was 0.2 no bleeding or cramping since then but i did bleed from 12/27-12/31 (before i knew i was preg). not sure if that was the miscarriage or if i should expect more bleeding anytime soon. i had my levels rechecked last thurs (1/15) and my hcg was back up to 89. i know that this is not a viable pregnancy but i'm just trying to figure out what's going on. here are my thoughts...

1. i miscarried on 12/27, my levels rose then fell. then i ovulated (because my progesterone was zero) and am now pregnant again.
2. i miscarried on 12/27 and my levels are all over the place...possibly an ectopic (i've had one previous ectopic 2 years ago). and my levels are just fluctuating and will eventually go back down.
3. i haven't miscarried yet and have to wait for the cramping and bleeding to start or possibly take a pill or have a d&c.

please help me sort through this if you have any opinion, i would greatly appreciate it. i haven't been able to talk to my doctor yet, just a nurse...who seems to not have an opinion and leave me questioning.

oh, and i will have my levels rechecked tomorrow. maybe i just need to wait for those results to get an answer!

Im sorry you are going threw this.

Its hard to really say whats going on, I would go get the blood test but i would also demand that your dr do a U/S to confirm a new pregnancy or a complete miscarriage, which dr's should be doing when women have a m/c, especially if your numbers are rising again, it could be possible that a piece of the m/c did not pass which could cause your levels to go up slowly and not fall. Again, there can be a few possibilities, but you need an U/S to confirm one or the other.  I will keep you in my prayers, keep us posted on how things go.

I agree with Latrice! something is going on and it could be anything. your dr need to do some more investigating on this and find out. if you have not passed everything then something needs to be done about that. how heavy was the bleeding in December?
let us know what the next bloods show!

I agree with Latrice too!  Best way to find out what is going on is a u/s.  Please let us know how your bloods go today.

my bleeding was almost like a slighter heavier period. it was one day of spotting, two days of heavy bleeding, followed by another day of spotting...and that was it.
had my labs done this morning, hopefully i will get more answers tomorrow and can go see my doc for an u/s. will keep you updated...and thanks for your comments!!

I'm sorry you are going through such a confusing time. It sounds like it may have been a m/c and maybe you are pg again. I would def confirm your blood levels and get a u/s. Bleeding early in pg is not uncommon. Also you want to make sure that if in fact dec was a m/c your body expelled the pg you dont' want to run the risk of a infection. I wish you the best and I hope you get some answers soon. Take care. Let me know what happens....

hey guys. my levels yesterday were back down to 54. i'm a bit bummed but i'm glad to have and answer that i'm not newly pregnant, the levels are just fluctuating. i was concerned about another ectopic but my doc wasn't. i'm still wishing she would do an u/s but she didn't think that was necessary. she's thinking that i will most likely cycle (or start bleeding) within the next week or so. i'm retesting my levels next tuesday so just pray that they continue to go down towards zero. thanks again for all of your thoughts and encouragement. i'll post again next week.

bydcc- did you dr say what the next step would be if they aren't down by the next test? It is good that you are not pregnant as your body really does need at least one cycle to get back to normal. I hope that your levels are back to 0 by next test!
