ovulation after a miscarriage?

Ok so I miscarried June 24th. My doc wouldn't give me clomid this month b/c he wanted my body to rest and he thought it would be unlikely for me to ovulate on my own or get my period on my own so after my period we were suppose to wait and see if I ovulated and if I didn't by the time (CD 17) that i normally ovulate we were to abstain from sex for 2 weeks and then i'd have a preggo test to confirm i wasn't preggo so i could start the Prevara again. Well on cd 21 i felt kinda different so I thought well maybe i'm ovulating on my own for some weird reason and i'll be damn i did get a pos. OPK on cd 21. So of course we did the BD on day 21 and 22 (mind you we were half way through the 2 weeks of abstaining---that's so not easy!) but we thought what the hey lets give it a whirl and just start the 2 weeks of abstaining after that.

Ok now that i've rambled, my question is how likely are you to conceive the month after you miscarry?  I've heard people say you are more fertile after you miscarry??? any truth to that? My temps are all over the place this month. My other question ....is it normal to have headaches from not being on the clomid when you have been for several months before? I've been having headaches the last 1.5weeks and they are bad in the morning and then the subside around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I've take aleve, ibuprofen to relieve them but nothing helps..thought it might be a withdrawal kinda thing.
thanks!

I don't know if its true that you are more fertile right after a m/c, but I do know lots of women conceive right after.  There are many examples of that is the 35+ pregnancy forum.  I personally conceived right after although I did lose it again (nothing to do with the timing of conception, so don't let that worry you).  I had my last D&C June 1st, and just ovulated last weekend, so am waiting to see again.  Best of luck to you, I hope its a BFP for you!!!!!

Oh yes it is possible to get preggers 1 month after a miscarriage.  I am living proof. I had a miscarriage On May 8th ended May 15th found out on Monday 7/14/08 that I am 9 weeks preggers and due in Feb.  And my husband and I as well have only been intimate 1 time since the miscarriage. I kept waiting to get AF to start my pills because as well my dr. told us to abstain for a while well I waited 2 - 3 weeks after and nothing so we said forget this and did anyway.  WELL... our son is going to be a big brother.

Hi, sorry about your loss, i had missed m/c june 12th and d&c june 17th, im still waiting on AF, my hcg levels were 29 on last tuesday, i go back friday to do redraw, im hoping its at zero. I have done a opk 2 weeks after my d&c and it was positive, also wheni did a hpt june 27 it said positve but thats because a lot of the hormone was in my body, july 3 i did it again and it said negative which lets me no the levels are going down.

To answer your question, YES, you are very fertile after a m/c and a lot of women get preggo quick, just like women who give birth, a lot are preggo when they go back for their 6 week check up.  I no headaches could also be a sign of pregnancy, i dont no much about clomid, i no it plays a role in estradiol and progesterone levels rising and falling.  Hopefuly someone else can answer that, their is a lot of women on here who has used it.

At the moment, sounds like you may be a 2009 Mommy:), you can also get your beta levels checked, it should show if its a new pregnancy:)  Wishing you much baby dust
