progesterone level and hairloss

I am experiencing hairloss/thining problem following my miscarriage last year. My Ob doctor has put me on prometrium suppositories for gyn reasons, but he suggested that my hairloss may alos be related to low progesterone levels. I was wondering if Pometrium can reverse the hairloss? has anyone here experienced hairloss due to hormonal issues?

Thanks

I hope so too. When I was younger I went through a period when I lost tons of hair, it was literally everywhere. They never found out exactly why. Maybe stress they said and another thing I noticed after the dr. mention was when I use Pantene shampoo my hair comes out a lot. I'm not sure why? I hope you get it figured out soon b/c I know how scary it is.

thanks for your response. My doctor mentioned that it is normal to loose hair for a few months after MC, but mine doesnt seem to stop. I really hope that this prometrium will help.

I started losing lots of hair in July then I found out I was almost 7 weeks pregnant. I knew something was wrong b/c you're not supposed to lose any hair while you are pregnant. Then after I found out that the baby had stopped growing at 5 week which would explain the hair loss. I continued to lose crazy amounts of hair for a couple of months after my m/c. But it has finally stopped. Thank God I have tons of hair to spare! I saw a lot about hormones when I was researching what was going on.
