I have a prescription for fluvoxamine. It says take 4 pills @50mg at bedtime. Is that a little too much and why should I take them at bedtime instead of during the day/

If you can get them to give you one 200mg pill verses four 50mg pills it will probably be cheaper for you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The dose you have been prescribed is solidly within the usual range of doses prescribed.
Most medications are taken at night if they might cause sedation and, in fact, I usually recommend that folks take almost all psychiatric medications except those that cause insomnia at night because that way if there are any side effects or potential side effects you get those at night while you are asleep... and from the standpoint of therapeutic effects it doesn't matter when you take it.
