Hurting Feet

I'm just starting a new thread as I was interested in "Cramping Feet" but noticed the date when it was started. As I stated in another thread,I'm not able to follow numerous posts because of bad eyes.

I had that problem, too. It actually started out a few monthes ago while I'd be seated and resting. My feet suddenly decided it was time to act up in a big way! I had a sudden urge to S T R E T C H  my feet as much as possible!
Just last 2 weeks ago it started acting up at bedtime.I couldn't sleep;that's how bad it got! I'd have to get up and walk around and finally go back to bed.I finally couldn't take it and called my neuro's office and that's when he called in the muscle relaxer Tizanidine for me.I sleep like a baby now.

Thanks Beth!
I can't believe I forgot Sleepy since I've been having an energy crisis and dealing with it by sleeping, lol!

Now Bashful...guess it's been awhile since I was bashful;but I used to get teased for that!

Actually a saw where someone did a study using the seven dwarfs to study how much information i person can simultaneously recall. In the study they said most people could not remember more than 5 -6 of them. I think it was something like 2400 people in the study and only a handful of them could get all 7. Most people that did name seven would either repeat one or more names or come up with names using other personality traits that were not used in the names.

Most people can not retain more than 4 names in their mind at one time so by the time they tried to get a 5th or 6th name they could not remember the names they had already said.

Yes the cramping during and after would be bad timing and has happen to me once in a while.

But what is even worse is having sneezing attack after intimate relations. That is one of the things that has occurred to me ever since I developed MS.Make it kind of hard to be romantic when you spend 5 to 10 minutes with one sneeze after another.

hmmmm Dennis, i have the same thing but its my right arm, I could also say its feels like a cramp or a hard sharp muscle spasm in the same place every blasted time, middle of my forearm between elbow and wrist, and then my finger folds up and the pain in the middle of my arm goes off the charts, i can't imagine the pain of it happening in a leg.......ouch! I thought its was related to tendon contraction and not muscle though, sorry can't remember at the moment, my brain is out to lunch :o)

I still get woken by my foot curling up, though i don't think i've noticed if it happens as often as it does during the day. The only other warning sign i've noticed, is that sometimes i've noticed my big toe is not as flexible, not bending correctly for a little while prior to my foot cramping, though that still happens with out the cramp so not sure if its really a sign or not.

Cheers..........JJ

PS ROFL (blush) foot, leg or other areas that i get muscle cramping, during and after intimate relations (lol) have got to have the worst timing ever!

Well Dennis,it sounds like you do have a backward problem! Either that or you're a catortonist! :)  Hope the Baclofen works;that really sounds agonizing!

I wish I could take the Tizanidine during the day at times...like today! I think I spoke too quickly about how well it's working for me (as if all my problems were over now!)

Yesterday,I decided to attack my house and clean! I  suffered during my flare. And I suffered for my effort!!! The med did finally kick in;but when I first went to bed,my feet were 'acting out'....I was ready to kick 'em out of bed!

Sooo... today the sciatica kicks in! It's a glorious day folks!

Well it looks like I have another problem that is backwards. :) My foot pain always starts in my calf muscles. Most of the time this occurs at night, but once in a while during the day if I have done too much.  A couple of times it has been so bad that not only was my foot curling downward, but my leg also snapped backward so that my foot was against my buttock. In those cases all I can do is lay there in agony for 2 - 3 hours. Kind of hard to walk when one of your legs is stuck to your rear end :)

When I talk to my doctors I always refer to it as leg cramps as that is wear it begins. But it also involves my feet cramping. MY MS Neuro just gave me a RX for Baclofen for this but I haven't gotten it in the mail yet. I sure hope this works!

Happens to me all day long.  The cramp starts in the soles of my feet, and moves up my calf muscles.  It used to happen at night too, but now I take both Zanaflex, (tizanidine) and Baclofen before I go to bed.  I do take baclofen during the day, but it doesn't completely stop the daytime cramping.  I wish I could take the Zanaflex during the day, but it knocks me out.
