I had R ankle surgery last Thursday- surgery went fine- the tendon was better than the surgeon thought but the bone spurs were much worse- since the MRI & xray were done over five months ago. The surgeon was able to talk me & my wife later because of his schedule. He said once he made the incision it was 2 1/2 hours of repair. He installed the screw- graft- removed the spurs & reduced the tendon.
I had the following problems after surgery, before they pulled the I.V out and wanted to know about the pain level I said it was going up from 6 to 9. I was given Morphine first time in my life I, when they check on me later, my entire leg was a 10 in the pain level. I stayed over night after talking with the Dr, he was concerned with the possible blood clot.
I also had left hand tingles & numbness- it feels like when a body part goes to sleep, this time from my thumb to my middle finger hurt to be touched, also minor numbness in right hand.
When I have a MRI of the spine & they place the back board under me. I have the same problem- not a bad tho.
Once again after speaking with Dr, the way they layed this fat man on his stomach & turned my head it affected my bulged & herinated disk in my neck C4-C6. He was sure & so was I that it wasn't related to the MS.
I was offered Fusion surgery for that prior but Ive declined so far.
I'm all better now, most feeling had returned.
When the surgeon came into the room just prior to my ankle surgery he wrote on my left ankle NO and then he wrote on my right ankle YES-- However, from my perspective it looked like he wrote, ON and the word SEY, I'm sure you get it .
Is anyone participating in any marathons or walkathons this year ? if so , would you like me to participate with you? I will , it's just that I'll be behind you all the way.
Pain meds are working much better today , even my jokes are better..
