11 year old daughter left eye issue

My daughter had her left eye corrected with drops and patching before the age of 9. She didn't need to wear glasses anymore or do anything with her eye.

However now in Jan 2015 she woke up with a headache and 2400 in her left eye.
When her eye dr looks in the eye everything is strong, he cannot see anything wrong. He also did a peripheral test for her eyes. Her left eye shows the bottom left unable to see out of.
So he ordered an MRI with and without contrast. It came back normal.
Im sending the MRI report and images to another radiologist to look it over.

Would a EEG or VEP test help diagnose something?

Why is her eye so bad?

Hi and welcome,

I'm not sure if you intended for your question to land in the MS community or not  but MS as an explanation, would be less likely in comparison to any of the other much more common visual conditions in young children.

I would suggest getting the second opinion or the opinion of a paediatric ophthalmologist if the ophthalmologist isn't able to work it out or explain what this could mean.....

Cheers......JJ

There are only two eye conditions in MS. Optic Neuritis which the eye doctor would have seen with the perepheral or the MRI would pick up or double vision. Both are neurological He should have seen evidence of either. An eeg would show nothing. A VEP would help if it were neurological.

You could always see a Neuro opthalmologist if you think it is neurological.
