Any idea's what has caused this or has any other females suffered with this at all, or any suggestions what I could do to ease the pain, as I am supposed to be going out for a Hen Night meal tonight, I think I will get funny looks when I walk, I am really hoping it will ease off as do not want to let me friend down tonight, it's her special night bless her.
Sorry but i've never had the experience, is the pain eased at all with meds, heat pack like we did/do for period pain, the closest i can come to what you describe is when my kidneys play up, i then walk stiff and bent forward but sorry i dont have any solutions.
Louby,
My first thought is muscles everywhere in our body are susceptible to the problem of spasticity. There are certainly enough muscles *down there* that they could be involved as well. I know my inner thigh muscle tends to act up but fortunately its fleeting and not steady like you describe.
I hope you are able to enjoy your Hen's Night - I love that name. Over here we just call it girl's night out or *honey, there's leftovers in the fridge - I'll be back later!* LOL
Yes, its a sensitive subject but thank God we can come here huh! Yes I have had the spasms & the numbness & the tingling. To be honest I can't feel anything down there most of the time due to the numbness (makes it difficult to be romantic).Do you have a burning nerve-like pain too? Usually this happens to me right before the spasms hit. I had a hysterectomy so I don't think mine is due to female problems. I hope this helps some!!!
Thank-you girlies for replying, I did feel a bit embrassed about asking, but am so glad I did.
I have noticed as the day has gone by, it has become worse, especially my inner thighs & the numbness is now spreading around my booty, My legs have gone really pins & needles now. I have used a hot water bottle which has helped slightly my children are giving me wierd looks & have asked why I am sitting on a hot water bottle. I think I am going to have to cancel going to the Hen Night as the pain is really radiating round.
Tammy 826... Yes funning you saying that, I do have a burning like nerve pain, but I am also experiencing like I have sat on a wet patch, not constant. Have you had that experience????
Lulu54.... Did you find anything nice when you raided the fridge? lol!!! I am hating being on this sugar diet but really hope my outcome was like yours.
Yeah, sounds like those ol' Spasticity blues! I get really strong spasms in my deep inner hip flexors, making it difficult to walk. The longest one so far was 45 minutes. As far as tender female parts go, I either can't get aroused at all (but I'm right in the middle of Menopause, too), or, when I eventually do, the results are almost too crazy! Wet patches sensations all over lower extremities (fleeting), buzzes, shocks, your basic spinal lesion mess...
Don't give up Hen Night!! You need your peeps!
Cheers,

hi louby my privates are numb alot really strong numbness ,can you not ask to have another mri of spine you mentioned itchieness my whole torso has been itchie for days cant stop scratching myself constantly try ahot bath or a good antinflamatory if you can get one you have to go back to your gp and tell them you cant go on with these symptoms not knowing whats happening ask for something for your pelvic area spasms all the bestx
Hello again, yes, I have the wet patch thing & sometimes it feels like water running down my thigh. Don't be embarrassed it seems we all have these weird crazy symptoms!! Blessings to you & yours, Tammy
I had a MRI of the base of my spine & pelvic because of the same symtom about 3yrs ago now, at the time they thought I had Ankylosing Spondylitis but have since ruled that out due to some of my symptoms & that I was complaining the more I do the worse I get where with A.S the more you do the better you get through the day. The MRI was neg, I have not had a MRI on any other part of my spine. I had a brain MRI which showed changes but was told this was because I smoke, even though I did fail on a couple of Neuro test.
My itching is always on my head/face & neck & keeps flaring up, it drives me crazy at times, but I have learnt to try & ignore it as much as I can.
I have had a hot bath but for some reason this has made it worse, I am at the moment sitting on a hot water bottle. I do take 30mg Baclofen, 25mg Amitriptyline & Co-Codamol. The pain has become worse, it's now around my hips, bottom of my back & my right side of my back up to the shoulder. To be honest I feel sick with the pain, this is nearly as painful when I get it in my ribs across to my stomach, want it to go now.
Will be going doctors on Monday as enough is enough now :)
Louby,
Heat is our ENEMY and not the friend of MSers. almost all of us are heat sensitive and the slightest change in temperature will bring on worsening symptoms. Fortunately it usually gets better when you cool down, but not always - just ask Sarahsmom about hot tubs!
Stay out of hot baths and get off the hot water bottle and see if that helps.
I'm so sorry you are in agony - don't wait until Monday if it progresses - go to the A&E for help if you can't stand it.
Hi there,
I have the numbness, burning and tingling and nerve pain that is always manifesting in my pubic/groin area... at the moment matters are worse because I have some sort of UTI or ? ? ? and this has worsened all my symptoms, but I suspect my UTI? is because or due to the fact that I do have some numbness in this region.
When I asked my neurologist about this ages ago he said it is common in MS... and that he has many patients that describe what I was feeling, so at least I didn't feel like a fruit loop. I also get some spasms in my thigh and the water feeling running down my back.
I would strongly recommend that you have a full spinal MRI that includes your cervical, thoracic.
Apparently this is more common with spinal cord lesions...
Good luck with it all, I have been taking gabapentin to help but lately this hasn't been strong enough but if your spasms are strong you might need bacolofen for something like that.
Best wishes,
Udkas.
P.S. Isn't it wonderful that our identity can remain annonymous!
Do you gals who have the tingling/ numbness down there also have urinary frequency, stress incontinance, and a feeling of being to relaxed down there? My MS specialist referred me to a urologist but said the stress incontinance and feeling looser down there is common in women because of our anatomy and babies so he doesn't think it's MS related.....HOWEVER, I just turned 32 and have never had babies!
