Advice please?

Hi all, I've posted here a few times. I'm in limbo and have been for over a year. I've had all the tests MRI, evoked potentials, LP etc. everything checks out as normal except my physical exam and a unidentified bright spot on my MRI.

I've seen 2 neuro's and a nurse practitioner. I've had nothing but problems with the office I've gone to. My symptoms are all MS like and have been told by a hematologist and opthomologist and the nurse practitioner that they suspected MS.

I recently attempted to get a referral to a MS specialist but then saw the second neuro and he told me that there is nothing neurologically wrong with me and I would be wasting my time going. He went as far to say that if a neuro diagnosed me with ms that it would be malpractice.

A few of my symptoms are: rt sided weakness and numbness, severe fatigue at times, heat intolerance, issues with my left eye, tingling and burning mostly rt side, cognitive issues....just to name a few.

So my question is do I give up on the neuro side and try a rheumatologist like he suggested? I'm so at a loss and an very frustrated. I'm a EMT/firefighter and am not working at the moment due to my lack of strength. Any advice or suggestions appreciated!

I do have a good PCP. I guess I will go to her and see what she thinks. Thanks so much for your response.

You have a hard situation. I would try another Neurologist unless you really have something a Rhematologist can help you with. My second Neurologist swore I did not have MS. Next I went to a MS Specialist it took a year and a half but he diagnosed me with MS.

I even believed Neurologist 2 and was giving up all together, A Neuro/ Opth she sent me to said I had MS. A dozen Neurologist all believed I had MS but one did not.

I have learned when you hit a dead end start over. It is time consuming and expensive but sometimes it is what you have to do,

Going to the Rhematologist may be good for ruling more out. Do you have a good GP or PCP. Mine saves me from unnecessary doctors.

Have you read the health pages at the bottom there is a lot of good stuff in there.
