That's a new use for Topamax that I haven't heard of before! I am on it for Cluster Headaches and I have to say it has been my saving grace, I am so glad to hear that it might be yours also. I have noticed since I have been on it that I do take less of my pain meds for my back also so it must be some good stuff!
It is such a relief to hear you are feeling well and actually able to enjoy yourself a bit, now just don't overdue it! Be well and take care, I hope this last and you don't ever have to go in for those root canals!

I am smiling from ear-to-ear about your good news, both health wise and saving yourself 6K on root canals.
The secretary in the office was very honest about the fact that even with the root canals, the pain could very well come back especially if it is not really being caused a damaged tooth in the first place. This is one procedure I'd get another opinion for unless it was caused by a trauma and had to be done as an emergency. I've had friends be told they needed a root canal only to find out later it was a sinus infection causing their tooth pain - what a waste of a perfectly good tooth.
So, hooorrrray for feeling good again. Relish in it and go do something fun. For me, that would be SHOPPING. Window shopping of course since my doctor's and the hospital own the next few months of my pay.
Hope you and the kids have a great father's day with dad.

Thank you for all your comments. Yes, I started feeling better, neuro put on yet another new med for TN, Topamax. Could it be working? Or perhaps it was the time it was going away anyway? hard to tell.
I will keep on it, and see if I get the TN at my usual 6 weeks or so from now. If not, I will stay on Topamax. That would be SO great if this was finally the med that helped.
I have no idea why my teeth stopped hurting, and am not questioning it either!
I hope it stays this way!
Thanks again,
Michelle
So pleased to hear that your pain is gone. Yahoooo :)))
I too would put off any Dental work.

Wow, what a relief! No TN!! Woo Hooo!!
Yay! So glad to hear you're not in pain. :)
This may interest you. In 2006, I was told by my dentist that I needed to have 4 root canals. I greatly trust this dentist, but I was not in pain, so I decided to wait. It is now 2010. I still haven't had it done. I'm still watching and waiting.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you just wake up and it left? What? did it fade 1st???
Do tell, I'm very excited for you.

I am really happy for you, Michelle! I can't even imagine what the pain you were feeling was like. You sounded absolutely miserable!
I may have missed it, but how did the birthday party go?

Hi Michelle, How wonderful that you have a break from the pain. I don't blame you for canceling the dental procedure. I hope you will be able to do some things that you enjoy and haven't. Good for you!
Feels like everyone has got that weekend feeling, so hope that you continue to feel great and thank goodness your TN pain has gone....it feels like will be dancing in the pool!
I am sure there is a song about "that feel good feeling" and I am very happy for you that you are feeling sooooooo improved.
Keep well and pain free,
Love Sarah :)
