And Another Question.....

And Another Question.....

Because my neuro dx me with MS yesterday which was actually confirming a dx from 93' when I had an MRI and LP, do you think when I go to the "new" neuro she will order an LP?  I haven't got a copy of the MRI but will pick one up this afternoon and will let you know what it says since I probably won't be able to understand it.  The nurse just told me yesterday that there were a number of white matter lesions on my brain.

I feel for all your fustrations.  Did the LP from 93' show bands?  If it confirmed a dx of MS, can you still get a copy of the report and that doctors findings and dx?--  and take it  to the new neurologist when you go?  If you had those then maybe the new doc wouldn't put you thru another LP, but every doc is different--as we all know!

I know that the report from my MRI didn't say anything about the "glow-spot",  the report actually said "no abnormalities seen"  but i was able to find it in the neurologists notes and reports.  Just keep that in mind when you get the MRI report.  I really think that some of the radiologist out there have to many MRI's/x-rays to read and just look really quickly for something to jump out at them, or they really don't know what exactly they're looking for.  If the report isn't clear, when you go to the new neurologist-they can ask for a copy of the MRI itself and look at it to see what they see-I think that they're sometines better trained in reading them and looking for exactly what they need to be looking for. Unfortunately, just getting the nurse to say that there are a number of white matter lesions on the brain could really mean anything.  Are these lesions new or old?  Where in the brain are they?  I really hope that the new neurologist will be able to see what's going on and get you on the right track.

Let us know what the report says after you pick it up.

Huggs and prayers!
