Another Reflex Question

What about when your reflexes are super fast?  Mine have always been very fast and very furious.  Hit me in the knee with that little mallet and you best move out of the way, because I could easily kick you in some bad places.

What does that usually mean?

Quix has a great reflexes post, but essentially, there is a stratification of reflexes into categories that run from no reflex (that's pathological) to hyperrflexia (which at the other end of the spectrum is pathological). Really experienced neuros allegedly get these partly subjective assessments correct. A +2 or +3 is considered normal, but a +4 or +5 (if they use a 5-point scale) is pathological (brisk, hyper). One thing I know my hyperrflexive knee jerk exhibits is a bounce or two on the way back down, in addition to kicking up pretty high. Those extra bounces indicate pathology.

But look for Quix's post. It's really informative, as usual.
