Even though my blood pressure is great and my heart is fine, they still recommend that I take aspirin. I have circulation problems in both legs - phlebitis in the left and a blood clot (since resolved) in the right. I also have a undiagnosed feeling of pressure and a whooshing full feeling in the head, like it's full of blood. For a while I had what I guess was orthostatic hypotension, and a painful feeling in the neck.
thinning of the blood will help in both situations I would expect.
BC - the aspirin is for thinning the blood to avoid clots that can cause heart attacks. 81mg ones are the recommended daily dose for those of us who are of that special age or have a previous cardiac event. I fall into both of those categories.
I'm glad someone else watched the ECTRIMS news - I'm waiting for the posters and presentations to be put online for the rest of the story.
best, L
Julie's reports from ECTRIMS were very interesting, as were the MS World videos on it.
I just read through the discussion on CCSVI. Alright, I know a bit about the brain and nerves... but I don't know much about the vascular system.
People at risk for heart attacks take baby aspirin or something, right? Does that help blood flow better or is it just for clotting? Thinking how we could get our blood flowing more efficiently, if CCSVI truly is a factor in MS.
Just wondering if you followed any of the news out of ECTRIMS? She wrote about it on the NMSS blog from Amsterdam. There were many great presentations there. I hope you get the chance to read more.
