Anyone with adverse blood work reactions t o Trilepta;

Has anyone experienced altered labs (decreased white and now red cells). The white count came up a tad since last week so we are rechecking again next week in the hopes it was a virus causing the low counts. But, now my RBC are below normals as or my H&H.

The sodium levels are also low but the Trileptal or my diuretic could be the cause of that reading. We have started the weaning off process but the TN is trying to return so we are on the last week of taper of Trileptal and stating Neurontin and Cymbalta to replace it.

My Ms neuro would prefer to keep me on a low dose of Trileptal for the TN and continue all the other meds. does this seems like excessive amount of drugs to be taking? Don't forget the nortriptyline and clonzepam too. I'm a freaking walking pharmacy! Sorry , just aggravated by the juggling from one doc to another to stabilize my conditions and my meds.

Any feed back greatly appreciated it...

Yeah, it would knock me on the floor too if my daughter came to me with that kind of news.  Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for her.  I am sure she will come home with wonderful pictures and stories for you and hubby.  It is so hard to let them go, huh?

Woo Hoo!  Spoons!

My daughter is going to Turkey for 2 weeks with a friend from college and her mother. She'll be in Istanbul. After my husband and I picked ourselves up off the floor and did some reading about the area we are happy she has the chance to go. It has a rich history and the sites to see in the literature are breath taking . Not entirely at peace ...but as much as a parent can be :-).

I'll keep you posted on the spoons and if I have an extra, I'll remember you have first dibs *grin*.

Well, at least we aren't loners in out pharmaceutical walk then, huh?  I know, I know....not funny.  But, it is sad to say, that it is kinda nice to know that I am not the only one, ya know?

I never thought to ask about the brain fog.  Hmmm  Sounds logical.  I have loads of squiggly little red lines under many words in my posts that I usually fix up before I hit send...that way I can be in denial about the fog.  *grin*

Daughter moved back home, huh?  Why is she going to Turkey and for how long?  Wow...

Spoons!  You know, my mom asks about my spoons all the time now.  Go nap and if you end up with an extra spoon to share, I will take one, thank you very much!

Hugs,
Addi

Thanks Addi, it's good to know I'm not the only one that is a walking pharmacy..I win I am on 12 different drugs. Not a game I want to win!

The Trileptal is supposed to have fewer side effects than the Tegretol which is also used for TN. I asked my neuro yesterday if the cog fog (notice all the typos and wrong word usage?) was due to the flare or drug related, his answer was yes. He feels it is a combination. Doesn't help solve the problem or improve my cog fog and slurred speech.

Guess I just needed to vent. Between the drug issues and moving my daughter out of her college apt and back home so she can leave for Turkey on Tuesday, I'm stretched as far as I can  go.

I used all my spoons yesterday and borrowed from today. Even got hot and tired enough to set off my vertigo. Guess it's time for a nap and maybe I can replace a spoon or two:-)

Thanks for the support!

Mornin' Ren-

I haven't been on Trilepta, don't know what it is, so I can't help you there.  Sorry.  ;0(

But, I can totally relate to you about the walking pharmacy.  This is becoming a concern for me, too. Before my neuro issues started, I hated even taking a Tylenol and usually waited until the headache, tummy ache or whatever got unbearable before I would take one.

Now, I wake up and grab my pill organizer and two others meds that don't fit in it.  Take another pill in the afternoon and a handful of pills in the evening.  I am on 11 different drugs on a daily basis.  This absolutely blows my mind.

I have addressed this with my doc, too.  He says I need them all....

I hope someone can answer your question about the blood work reaction....
