Article that links Ebstein Barr Virus to MS

Hi,  I read this yesterday and found it really interesting.  It is at the site called "Web"  and then the initials for Medical Doctor.  (I tried twice yesterday to post this but kept getting bumped off.)

Anyway I hope you can find it with just this info.  Amy

The EBV thing confuses me because most of world's population has the EBV  about 98% but only about 2500000 people in the world have MS. Few people with EBV ever have titers done and then the titers are complicated. I think it is one piece of the puzzle. May be the 2% who never get EBV have some special gene keeping them from getting MS.

same here. I am not dx'd, but have high EBV titers. I am trying to pull the article up, but not able to.

This is how I got back to be re-evaluated by the neurologist.  My orthopedic dr. told me about the research on high EBV titers and the increased incidence of MS.  I told him I'd do the Mri (thinking nothing would show) so I could avoid the neurologist.  Just my luck there was actually 2 small lesions on 1.0T machine.  However, going to the neurologist still didn't do anything.  At least the orthopod knows a lot!!!  ~K

I have yet to read this, but do remember our discussion in the past on EBV and other viruses that they research to see what makes us vulnerable...

I'm glad there was interest in this.  I am hoping maybe there will be some research into the Lyme bacteria causing (or being a factor in) people having MS, which is what I think has happened to me.  Take care all, Amy
