Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday

Hope you all (who believe) had a thoughtful Ash Wednesday. I went to Services at noon. I had to laugh the rest of the day, I can't count how many people told me I had something on my forehead! Gave me a chance to do a little gentle teaching. I can't believe Lent is here already. Easter this year will be the 2nd earliest it can be. March 23. Special prayers & hugs for all..........Maggie

The washer repair guys came (it's now Thursday, but they came on Ash Wednesday. I forgot had the ashes on my forehead, saw them in the mirror later. Had to chuckle, as they never blinked, never said a word about it.

At my husband's job though, several people would see his and ask what Church he went to to get them. So it was like an advertisement.

Lent is supposed to be penitential and today I have my neurology appt. after a bunch of tests. I can't help but wonder what the next 40 days will bring. (Sorry, I just think that way, lol!)

Have a Blessed Lent,
Suzanne

You kind of have to wonder if these folks would ever tell you that there's spinach in your teeth. Too polite to tell you that there's a black mark on you, just in case you didn't know!

Chuckling,

I wasn't able to go to services last night.  We got about six inches of snow and my son had to swerve to miss another car that swerved, and hit a rock in front of someone's property on a side street and it wrecked his brand new tire.

It took me over an hour to get home to pick him up after work, it took a tow truck two hours to come (didn't feel safe jacking the van up on ice--hubby's out of town) to change the tire.  And I still had to do grocery shopping and feed my other boys in between.

Every muscle in my body was SO tight.  Even my jaw.  Big knots.  But, I got my son on his way, and got to the store, and saw all these women with the ashes on their foreheads.  It reminded me!

So, as I walked the aisles, looking for tonic water for my spasms(!), I had my own Ash Wednesday service in my head.

My middle son is going on a mission trip to Mexico during Easter week.  His group of kids teaches vacation Bible school to the kids in a very poor area for the week.  He's been looking forward to it sicne he left last year.  I thought about all the kids in that poor town and how much God loves us all.  What He does for us every day.

Tow trucks and all.  Made the cramps less painful.

Wowee, you certainly did have your own Ash Wednesday! I'm just glad nobody was hurt, it could have been pretty serious.

Hoping today is better all around for you and the whole family.

Thanks!  I'm not complaining!  Today is great!  The snow stopped and the tress are SO beautiful!  Roads are safe.

Have a great Lenten day.
