Babinski reflex

Babinski reflex

I'm 24 years old female.

On march 2008 I started having involuntary movements of my fingers in my right hands, also numbness and tingling, neck pain and headaches. I went to my primary Doctor, he referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist performed a physical examination and found all test negative including the Babinski reflex. He send me to do MRI and EMG but they come out normal. However, My primary Doctors was no happy with his unexplainantiopn of symtomps because after my visit with neurologist I start having tremors, twictches, muscles cramps joint pain, and also an extreme fatigue. That's why I went for a second opnion with another neurologist and when this new neurologist performed the Physical examination he noticed that my right hand and leg are weaker than my left  and I test positive for babinski and I have Hyperactive  reflexes. For my surprise I could no even jump in one foot.
He R/O Mylitis and demyelinating disease and sent me for a Cervical and lumbosacral MRI.

Why did I test neagtive for Babinski at my first neurological visit? which diseases can be related to my symtomps? Could I have MS?

Hi Isa,

Welcome to the forum.  I'm so glad to hear you have such a good primary on your side.  No matter why, this Dr. picked up on something and is looking a little further.  That must of been a heck of a time to find out you couldn't jump on one foot, huh?

Did the Dr. order any labs along with the imaging of your c-spine and lumbar?

Sure can't say if this is MS, but this forum is jammed with experiences and facts. Feel free to poke around, peek at our health pages, participate in discussions, or just sit back and get to know us a bit.  Hope we can be of some help or at least comfort while you move through the tests.
