Baclafen pump

I have been taking 60mg of Baclafen for about 2 years now to help the severe stiffness in my leg. The stiffness has gotten so bad that walking is becoming more difficult. My neuro switched me to a new med: Zanaflex. I am hoping this one will work. If it doesn't work well enough she wants to put me on the Baclafen pump. She said it will give me more meds without tiring me as much as th pills do. This scares me because I really don't want surgery. If anyone here uses the Baclafen pump, I would really appreciate some feedback.
Thanks,
Deb :)

Thanks Kelly! I am going to give the Zanaflex a bit of time. I am glad to hear that Klonopin is working for you :) If the Zanaflex doesn't work for me I will ask my doctor about trying me on Klonopin. I am really thinking of avoiding the pump, it really sounds too dangerous.
Good luck to you and thanks again.
Hugs,
Deb

I'm afraid of it, too. Zanaflex did nothing for me, besides making me feel like crap. I started at 10 mg of Baclofen, about 2 yrs ago, then 30mg, then I was put on 60mg in July, and as of last week I'm up to 80mg of it. I can't believe how quickly I've gone up on the dosage. I REALLY hope I don't have to get the pump.

My primary told me yesterday that she's seen several people with it, and they've had no issues. That still doesn't get the scare out of me.  I don't trust it - especially when it says it can malfunction and cause DEATH.  I'm not sure what I'm going to have to do next.

They talked about perhaps adding Valium, but I really don't want to become a zombie.  I just started taking Klonopin at night, and it helps a lot.

I hope you find some good answers,
Kelly
