Hey, Don~

Sorry about your news.  That's got to be hard to see in black and white.

You know, it really gets tough trying to correlate lesions with specific symptoms.  Although we know which areas of the brain control which functions, it is nearly impossible to match lesion to symptom.  I know if you peek at the Info Pages, Quix has no doubt written something brilliant regarding this.

I'm sorry for not knowing, but, please tell me:  Are you diagnosed with MS?  If so, are you taking medication?  What does your doctor say about the new MRI?

I hope you are feeling well.  Hope to hear from you soon.  We are here for you, Don!

Take care!

Hi Don

I'm really sorry to hear that there is a change in your mri .

I am also sorry I don't have any insight into your question ..  just questions of my own. Maybe you could help me...    How long have you had the nystagmus and how does it affect you ?   I just did a a series of balance tests yesterday and didn't do so well ..

On the caloric reflex the tech said I had more of an effect on one side than the other , and mentioned nystagmus but the dr. would call ..  and now I'm reading everything on it .

I loved your journal entry and would also like to print it out ..  you write and express yourself so very well .  it was sooo touching   And yup you made me cry ...  :)

Hugs

Jo

My nystagmus and INO are apparently a result of a lesion on my brainstem.

Nystagmus is also associated with cerebellar lesions.  As it is an eye movement disorder, I don't believe cervical spine would be involved.  I don't know this for certain though, just my impression from the research I've done.

I too was touched by your journal - you put into words so well what so many of us are feeling.

I have MS for 4 plus years .My nystagmus effect started after my first cortisteroid IV .The steroid seems wake up the "monster" Nystagmus  I had.
Is good to hear is possible  "don't believe cervical spine would be involved" and thank you doublevision1 for your comment.

I have some nystagmus when i'm having a flareup, and I think it's because of my cerebellar lesion.
