Been off for awhile..

I am trying to get back to the forum, I have no idea why I can't do this.  Now i was typing and everytime i hit a key, my stickies came up...always a distraction it seems.

Lots going on in my life but there is too much to mention right now, nothing is really MS related but it could make it worse, so I will just throw out the most recent....

I have been having trouble with my breathing, enough so that it is really scary, I have felt as if I am going to just die sometimes and I really can't do much around the house or even go out, I just feel so bad.

I have been to my pulmonoligist and was put on a c-pap, which is working fine.  But it doesn't help my breathing during the day.  I talked with them and my copd shouldn't be causing this and it may be my heart or allergies.

I had stopped blaming things on allergies, that I have had all my life.   My primary Doc did not believe I had allergies and wouldnt send me to an allergist.  So I just literally stopped thinking about it....

But guess what, I believe it is allergies so now I am not sure what is next, its a holiday weekend !!

Is there anyone else who has had allergies that caused such severe reactions ??

Its good to be back....

My mom had really bad allergies. It was scary she would be in her room for hours trying to just breath. If your Doc doesnt believe it is allergies just tell him to refer you anyways that you want to check it off your list off possabilities. If he doesnt give you the referal maybe try calling the allergist yourself and explaining your situation. good luck.

Thanks, thats what happens to me...you feel like you may die.

I can tell him to refer me and most likely will do it now, i will have my pulmonologist refer me or she can talk to my Dr.  One way or the other I can get it done.

I was just so surprised that it could do this to me.  Somehow my brain screws up sometimes, I dont know why I let him talk me pout of it before.

Will keep this up to date....if I don't forget...

I am sorry keep pushing until you get an answer you know your body and you know something is not right.

My allergies  and asthma are bad. I have never been to an allergist or pulmonologist. I take mucinex twice a day, use saline nasal spray constantly. Sometimes I use saline with a Special water pick attachment a friend told me about and blow out all the gunk. Plus the salt shrinks swelling. I put vaseline in my nose to keep allergines out. I have to do extreme things to keep things clean in the house and I have to stay away from most chemicals. I have to wear a mask outside certain times of year.

I also take singulair, zyrtec 2 x a day, symbicort, albuterol, use a nebulizer when needed and nasonex. I stay away from any medicines which dry my sinuses. I found baclofen makes my allergies worse.

I have the feeling an elephant is stepping on my chest. Allergies get worse year after year.

Meg, do you have lesions on your brain stem?  If so that could also be the reason.  It is not like knowing brings a miracle cure.  There is none.  I do know I have them and it was messing with my breathing but now is gone.  I hope it doesn't visit again.  It scared me.

By the way as that was happening I was also having a hard time swallowing...Don't know if they are related but both are gone for now.

ask your doc to measure your O2 sats during the day, they can test this at the hospital, if its too low, they will put you on portable O2 during the day

Oh Alex, that sounds like a lot of work, I don't envy you at all.  But as i say that I do a few of those myself..

@sarah, I have had all those tests, thats why my dr says it could be allergies.

I see my MS Dr, soon and I will see how my MRI looks.

Its so damn confusing..i am taking benadryl....I do use a neti pot also, that helps a lot.  But nothing helps the breathing or the good old fatigue.

But I am not giving up..
