MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS COMMUNITY
Brain MRI

Brain MRI

I recently had another MRI done of my brain. The last one was done in 2005.

The radiologist summarized the MRI in this way:

1. Encephalomalacia in the aterior aspect of the left temporal lobe most likely related to prior surgery. (This is from my brain surgery in 1996.)

2. Small focus of nonspecific hyperintensity in the high left mid parietal subcortical white matter possible small remote lacunar infarct. (This is a new finding since 2005).

There is no evidence of acute ischemic disease.

I don't have a copy of the MRI image itself to attach at this time. Hopefully, I will be able to obtain a copy from the doctor.

Can someone explain item number 2 to me?
